Comfort Inn and Suites Ames near ISU Campus

We are a touring band on our way to Minneapolis, Minnesota and had a great stay for the night at the Comfort Inn in Ames, Iowa. The parking was easy and convenient, which made arrival stress-free with the van. Check-in and check-out were both smooth and quick, and the staff at the front desk were friendly and efficient. We really appreciated the welcoming atmosphere of the lobby! It felt clean and inviting. Our room and bathroom were both spotless, and everything was well-maintained. One of our favorite features was the washer and dryer that didn’t require coins—super convenient for travelers. This was a really nice new hotel in Ames, IA. It’s really close to all amenities in town including the Iowa St. campus. The staff was super helpful getting us checked in and the wifi worked great. The parking lot was very secure and well lit. Free coffee in the lobby and a great free continental breakfast. Everything in the rooms were new and clean and the beds were large and comfortable. In an era where so many other hotels are cutting amenities and offer less to customers, this hotel went the extra mile for our stay. We’ll definitely return.

Was in town for a reunion at Iowa State and honestly had a bit of trepidation about staying at a Comfort Inn & Suites...well, rest easy (literally and figuratively) - for a Comfort Inn & Suites I was quite impressed. The property is clean, has a heated pool, great breakfast and super friendly staff. ZERO complaints here!!!

Booked room for a concert 7 months ahead of time checkin was supposed to be at 3pm with the concert starting at 5:30pm. Rooms were not cleaned and we didn’t get into our room until 5pm. I was told when we arrived at 4pm that they would text me when a room was clean. I was sitting in the lobby and noticed others who arrived after me were getting checked in prior to me and the last room that was clean was given to someone that had just arrived at the hotel! I stood at the checkin desk for a hour before I had a room. This is very poor planning for a concert of over 60,000 people in town with no shuttle service to and from the stadium! We also waited over an hour for a Lyft! We were late to the concert missing 90% of the first group. Paid a lot of money for 1 night stay and the concert and the experience was horrible!

The facility is newer and clean, breakfast was good. Make sure you test everything when you check in to make sure it works. Our TV didn’t work. The overnight person tried to help but couldn’t, and morning person didn’t seem to care and just said they’d report it to maintenance, offered nothing to make the situation better. Management doesn’t seem to care either, usually Choice Hotels are better than this.
