Candlewood Suites Indianapolis South an IHG Hotel

That was the most disgusting hotel I've stayed in. The stairwells were filthy with carpet stains all over and a dead mouse smell. The floor in the room was all buckled from the fridge leaking all over the kitchen floor, the light fixture by the bed was not working. The price was over the top for such a dump and they charged us $75 a night for pet fee for a total of $214 for 1 night, unbelievable! The only redeeming thing was the front desk clerk, both the AM and PM clerks were very friendly.

Over all this was a 2 star hotel. I would have given it 1 star but it was clean so I bumped it up to a second star experience. When arriving it took 40 minutes to an hour just to check in with only 4 people a head of me. Upon arrival I found out the pool was broken. I feel like this could have been updated on the website before I booked. When I finally got to my room I just wanted to wash the day away and thought I could finally relax but found out the bath/shower water was Luke warm/cold. Most of the appliances were broken. Front staff were unprofessional and unhelpful. Really the only good thing about this hotel is that at least it was clean. But other than that it was not a great experience so I will not be coming back. There are other hotels around this area I should have looked into. I am an IHG member and I have never experienced this before from an IHG hotel. Most IHG hotel have given me a great experience and been very professional.

This was the most horrible experience I have encounter when traveling. I checked into this hotel on 9/20/24. Later on that day the hotel lost power, yes power. My parents also had a room booked here and upon checking in there were told that there was a main water leak in the room that was going to be given to them. My husband has medical issues where he needs power in order to sleep at night. The manager for this facility was not onsite and had to be called because of this issue. After being frustrated with the situation for some time, I went ahead and moved hotels.

I arrived much earlier than normal check in time however they were able to get me in super quick. The ladies at the desk were so so nice. They asked me if I had a room preference and I said no. I now know why they asked. I was in room 100. This room was at the end of the hallway right beside the stairwell door. It was constantly slamming open and closed all hours. My ac also wasn’t working right when I got there but maintenance fixed it with no issues. He was awesome great. However the proximity of the bed to the wall ac unit, the fridge and the overall noise from the hallway made for the absolute loudest hotel visit I’ve ever experienced. This is no one’s fault, it’s just due to the design of it all. So please be choosy about your room and even then, bring earplugs or noise cancelling headphones if you’re even the slightest bit a light sleeper.

There was a National Conference in nearby Indianapolis sandwiched between two RACING weekends at Indianapolis Motor Speedway, nearby. That was a perfect opportunity for anything to go wrong. Not thus time, partly because the hotel's staff is GOOD. The place would have been rated higher, but the room Air Conditioning had a problem - it acted like the temperature sensor might be dirty. Meanwhile the entire staff was friendly and absolutely helpful. The suite was properly outfitted with the utensils we needed. and the bed was restful. Noise from the nearby highway was minimal. The suite was neatly ( yet very basic and pleaantly) decorated.
