Holiday Inn Express & Suites Salem an IHG Hotel

Only stayed on night but it was the best hotel that we have ever stayed in. I can't think of a single thing that I felt should be changed. The room was fantastic, even though we bring house shoes with us, I felt like I could walk barefoot and not feel dirty. The shower was great and think the hotel is on the right track to only have a shower. Tubs, I feel are outdated and who, now days, has the time to soak in the tub. Short and sweet, definitely will stay there again if traveling that way.

We stayed here a few days before Christmas and really enjoyed the hotel. Nice and modern rooms. Mini fridge and microwave in room are a plus. Staff were friendly and courteous. Hand soap was empty at check in but quickly supplied when requested. Breakfast was decent , especially liked the pancake maker. Plenty of restaurants nearby.

We came to Salem for a family reunion. We couldn't find a decent hotel in the historic downtown, so we had to choose among the usual collection of franchises that you find near highway exits in flyover America. This relatively modern Holiday Inn gave us what we needed to enjoy our visit. This is a modern building with a tasteful interior decor. The room was comfortable, clean and functional - not luxurious, but it checked all of the boxes you would want for a decent place to stay. The staff was courteous. The hotel has a minimal fitness center with a few basic aerobic machines and some weights. There is an area for towels for guests who are using the room, but when I went to work out (at about 7 a.m. on a Saturday morning) there were no towels out. I've supplied a photo. The hotel offers a free breakfast. There are some cooked items, but this is a low-end breakfast, reflecting the food you might find at the nearby fast food franchises that tend to cluster around highway exits. As with the rest of the hotel, it gets the job done without frills. I prefer hotels in historic downtown areas of small cities. When there isn't one available, the next best thing is a decent hotel out by the highway like this one. I'd stay here again if I came back.

I liked the hotel since it looks new and in good shape. The lobby area is nice. The breakfast area has a sun room. Indoor pool and modern gym. Rooms are clean and comfortable. Hotel is close to loud busy road, so ask for a quiet side room. Room has minifridge, microwave and Keurig coffee machine. Breakfast was basic. Wifi worked well, plenty of free parking.

Where do I start. This is my 8th hotel on my trip... Holiday Inn has been the cream of the crop. This one could be the cream if not for filthy corners on the bathroom floor, where evidently mops don't reach, so there's dirt, hair, silverfish and spiders.. Such a beautiful hotel, if not kept up, will turn into a roach hotel. Breakfast wasn't ready at 6:00 or even 6:15. The breakfast area was dirty before the items were placed, the bread products were stale. Food ran out quickly and wasn't refilled in a timely manner. The furnishings are great, the bed and linens were wonderful. A handicap room should have a walk in shower, not a tub. The tub was slippery with only one saftey bar. My reviews are probably pointless, the owners probably never see them. I was thrilled to finally check into a Holiday Inn Express. How disappointing.
