In our digital age, we are offered many "time-saving" (usually time saved for employees) options. Hilton offers "digital keys." You can "check-in" on line and ostensibly receive a "key," so you can bypass the check-in desk. Great. I have now tried this three times in three locations and it has never worked. At St. Charles, the online check in worked, but no digital key ever arrived. So, of course, I had to go to the desk for actual keys. In addition, the room they automatically provided was not the "accessible" room I reserved, so back to the desk. Note to Hilton: why are the accessible rooms as far from the entrance as possible? My guess is that in case of fire, they want them right next to one of the exits, but contemplate someone on a walker or cane or wheelchair having to roam the halls. One can, of course, drive to that distant entrance (and I did), but then you have to drive back to do luggage (the outer doors are problematic for luggage carts and the rear and side parking usually don't have much in the way of curb-less access). Unlike virtually every other motel these days, the breakfast at the Garden Inn was not free: $13.50. It was slightly better than say a Hilton Home2Suites breakfast, but $26's worth?

My grown daughter, I, and our two cats, traveled to Florida from Minnesota. We chose this hotel because we had had used it in the past. We stayed 8 nights on our trip in various hotels. This was the only hotel that provided us with adjoining connecting rooms, a great convenience for us. The hotel has everything and is a pleasure to visit. We enjoyed dinner and breakfast at the in-house Bistro. The service is very good. The rooms are spacious and the bathrooms showers very good. d. We slept well/ We will always stay here when our trip plans permit.

The noisy air conditioner in our room disturbed our sleep all night. When I reported this in the morning, the person at the front desk could have cared less. Never apologized or exhibited any empathy for our experience. But he did promise he would tell someone about the problem. So much for being a "Diamond Club" member. Usually, I would immediately return to the front desk to request a room change, but we had just returned from Europe and I was exhausted and thought I could live with the problem. Little did I know ... I am amazed a hotel can place people in a room with noisy A/C units. Apparently, the Hilton Garden Inn in St. Charles, IL has no process to checking their equipment and making sure it is in top working condition before placing a customer in a room. I guess they just rely on bad customer experiences to help them find their problems. They can do better with a little effort.

This was an excellent stay as a Hilton member and Hilton employee, everyone was incredible attentive and friendly, great atmosphere and clean everywhere you go. I want to mention that from check in and checking out, with “sarah” was a excellent experience and we felt very welcome, the restaurant and servers were wonderful and everyone at the front desk were very friendly and attentive all the time. Housekeeping team was great 👍 always with a smile and very helpful… definitely we’ll be back to this location … I give them 5 stars ⭐️
