La Quinta Inn & Suites by Wyndham Chicago Gurnee

Not for me. Noisy, arguing coming from rooms, TV didn't work, seemed like rooms had more people than they should, signs in the slow elevator about not coming in smelling like pot. This facility and surrounding area seemed to have a lot of either homeless or temporarily housed people. The most time I spent was waiting for the elevator. This is not a place I'd ever return to. After visiting a few more Gurnee hotels in the area (I also cancelled my stay at Baymont Wyndham for similar reasons) I decided to go back to the safety, quiet, and good condition of my own home. None of those 3 things existed here.

This is our 3rd time staying here. We come here because it’s really close to Six Flags and it has a pool and hot tub we like to use. It was a good value for what you got. Even though they are renovating this place (the rooms are a little nice than before and you have lots of plugs to charge all your electronics), I feel like things have gotten worse over time. Now the workers are very nice and I feel like this has nothing to do with them…I feel this is more upper management choices that are made and they are not listening to the staff. It’s nice they have a free breakfast but it has definitely declined in the last 2 years…more hot options were offered the other two times we were there and the food tasted better before. The food just seems off. This visit the first room reeked of cigarette smoke and I unfortunately I can’t stand/breath in a room like that. Then they switched us rooms…for two days we had issues using our keys (Apparently this has been an issue and they are supposed to totally change the locks in all the rooms)… having to go down at minimum 6 times to get new keys…they finally just had us switch rooms again. That was a pain to pack up everything and move. The new room unfortunately had a smell too…like body odor. I ended up spraying my perfume to fix that. And the bath tub is pretty stained for a renovated room…it’s quite disgusting, but I don’t want to have to change rooms. Nothing so far has been brought up about any type of compensation for all the hassles we have had…hopefully they will do something to help with our impression this time. We might have to find a different hotel next time we visit Six Flags.

Clean rooms n great staff that was very friendly n helpful . Breakfast was great each day. The pool nbhot tub were great. Close to shopping n great eating spots. Will definitely be staying again n telling my friends n family to stay there.............

Me and my daughter in law had to get rooms here last minute due to an unsafe airbnb we booked. The staff was super helpful and friendly. The area was safe and super close to all the places we needed to go. Will definitely stay here again in the future.
