Americas Best Value Inn Collinsville St. Louis

It was extremely disappointing to stay in the hotel. It is a "value" stay, so some extent of dirty curtens and uncleaned bathrooms are expected. But it was shocking to see that they say that they serve breakfast. There is no breakfast at all in the breakfast area between 6:00 am and 9:00 am. We were in the breakfast area as a family of 4 at around 7:00 am, and could only find 3 small pieces of coffee cakes and 4 apples only. NOTHING ELSE. Probably, these were there from the previous day. Surprisingly, there was no one at the reception. I waited in the breakfast area for over an hour, but neither breakfast nor a person arrived. I also tried calling the number written on the reception to call if guest's wants to talk, but nobody picked up the call. After wasting an hour at the reception, we had to go to Denny's on our own to have something for the breakfast. It is a BIG NO to say.

They have cockroaches. My power went out and they was the only hotel that wasn’t booked yet so I booked with them and the outcome was awful. Do better American Best Value. We didn’t even stay the night there because of how dirty the room was.

Only if you are desperate should you stay here. Cobwebs above the bed, hair in the sink and the drain of the shower. Nightstands were coated with a greasy substance that I washed off and it turned the wash rag yellow. Fitted sheet would not stay on the bed. No facial tissues in the room. Breakfast was a joke. Small fridge had 4 containers of yogurt and your other choice was a three pack of hostess chocolate mini donuts or a coffee cake. No fresh coffee just out of the machine.

Comfy bed, mostly clean hotel & room. Coffee + juice in the lobby but no breakfast. Linens were well worn but seemed clean. Some parts of the room need remodeling. Staff were pleasant. Good location right by I-55.

Overall, my stay was ok. The late night front desk fellow was efficient and polite. He came quickly to the room to fix a tv issue. Room nicely furnished but bathroom was possibly not cleaned at all. Towels were changed, but hair on floor and on soap tray in tub.This prompted me to look closer. See photo of floor behind door. Counter had soap mark near sink. I stay in "budget" hotels often and carry disinfectant wipes everywhere, so did not request a new room assuming it was cleaned by same staff. However, cleaning at midnight was not on my list of accomplishments for the day .
