Twice this hotel has scammed / lied about the rate. I had a quoted rate all in of $192 a night and upon check in the wanted another $174. Thank god my CC got it back. The first time I stayed there it was -8 degrees in the morning and the room was 52 degrees. Talked of cleaning person and they said the heating never keeps up when really cold. Never trust this hotel !

Overall a decent stay but all of the marketing may lead you to believe this is a higher end hotel. It is not. A holiday inn will have better amenities and service for a fraction of the cost. The daily $49.95 “amenity” fee is over the top, and they try to justify it with restaurants.com gift cards but it took several phone calls just to get them to actually give us the gift cards. Our room wasn’t stocked with pillows and the communal “premium coffee” in the lobby was a keurig machine with understocked creamer. The gimmick is this is a hotel with no concierge but that leaves guests hanging if there are any issues. The poor staff who did work very few hours were clearly underpaid for the problems they had to face. Also beware extra charges, fees, and do not book unless you are 100% sure your plans will not change as they will charge full price to cancel.

Let’s set the scene: I check into a hotel, hoping for a halfway decent stay. Spoiler alert—it wasn’t. First, they hit me with a random $78 fee on top of the rate I already paid. Fine, I’ll swallow that. Then, they slap a $125 hold on my card, which they promise to return upon checkout. Still, I’m holding it together. But here’s where the fun begins. I decide to leave early, before checkout, dreaming of freedom. Suddenly, they start blowing up my phone with texts, asking if I need anything. Anything?! How about a refund for this circus of a stay? But no, instead they inform me my card is “declining.” Declining for WHAT, you ask? Oh, just the two towels with face makeup on them. Yes, because apparently, makeup on towels is their breaking point. Never mind that I was locked out of my room for an hour and given the wrong room twice. Twice. Oh, and the TV? Useless. Completely non-functional. But hey, forget about all that, because two makeup-stained towels are clearly the greatest tragedy here. Now they expect me to pay extra, on top of everything else, for something no one in their right mind would even blink at. You’ve got to be kidding me. If this is how they do business, they can keep their towels—and their nonsense.

Loud night time music from the street, a criminally understaffed front desk, spotty wifi, hidden fees and marijuana smoke are the negatives. Its close to wrigley and the rooms have a bit of character. Its not a sh-thole, but the stay sucked for sure.
