We stopped on our way south. Price was amazing. Room had not been vacuumed, we found spoiled food in the fridge. The breakfast was a joke, white bread, waffles, margarine tub in fridge. Coffee was good. I guess for the price we got what we paid for but I’ve never had such an awful breakfast. It wasn’t clean by the food!!!

The grounds were overgrown with dried grass and weeds, and the entrance looked shabby. It took two notifications for them to shut the message light on the room phone off. Then it started up again during the night. The shower looked like something I would not want to step into. The continental breakfast was a joke. Just white bread for toast and a tub with oleo. The saving grace was that it was right off I-55 and easy to get away in the morning.

All I can say was that the room was clean. The sheets on the bed were clean, though stained. When entering the room, we had to find a light to turn on, because none of the ones connected to the light switch by the door came on. The towels were quite worn, though clean. You needed at least two to dry off. The conti breakfast was lacking; yes, I couldn't say "continental". They had waffles and syrup, white bread, cereal, but not much more. They did have a pitcher of orange juice, milk, and of course, coffee, But very minimal.

I don’t know about those first two 5 star reviews. Probably written by the hotel owner. The only good thing I could say about this place was it was clean and the bed was comfortable. We only got one set of very scratchy towels. I had to go to the front desk to get another set of towels, to which the attendant said “I’m not surprised. They were behind on laundry.” What kind of excuse is that?! The hotel was very tired in need of updates! It had few outlets for charging your phone (one, or two at best.) Tight bathroom with a very small sink. We were in the “accessible” room, yet it had a tub. Not very accessible for someone with a wheelchair. “Breakfast” was a joke. No decaf coffee, no juice, no fruit, no hard boiled eggs, no yogurt, nothing hot like eggs or sausage. Only two kinds of cereal but I didn’t see milk. Yes, it had a waffle maker. And it had bread bagels and crappy little donuts. Hubby said the coffee was bitter. Guess this was a BYOB (bring your own breakfast.) And then there was this: (we were afraid to turn on the heat for fear we’d be breathing this in!) We were glad we were only staying one night! I’d sleep in my car before ever staying here again!

This hotel has come a long way! The owner has spent a lot of money upgrading his hotel. The staff are very friendly and the rooms are very clean. New beds, flat screen TV, carpet and paint. If you have stayed at this hotel in the past you wouldn't even recognize it now as the ownership has done some major updates. Whenever I visit Bloomington this is the only place I stay. They are pet friendly for a very reasonable extra charge also for all the pet lovers out there. I am truly amazed with how this hotel looks now!
