Comfort Suites Normal University area

Buyer ..beware. Freezing cold room. Our room was freezing. We could not get the air to turn off. Had it turned up to 76* and we slept with our clothes on and had to get extra blankets from the car. We were told we could not move because the hotel was sold out. This hotel shares a parking lot with the courtyard and there were plenty of parking spaces. The door out of the bathroom was so dirty and gross we had to use a washcloth over the door handle. See picture. Falling bathroom tiles. This place is a mess. The breakfast looked inedible. Never again. Trusted the reviews ....buyer beware

We were pleased with the hotel - we felt it was clean and the king size bed we had was very comfortable. Good size room, we had a couch, a desk and an extra chair that was comfortable to sit in. The breakfast was great - we were there on Sat & Sun mornings and there were mini egg/cheese omelets, sausages, and diced potatoes on Saturday. Oatmeal, wafflemaker, yogurt, cereal, bakery - plenty to choose from in our opinion. A staff member was there tidying up and replenishing. Oh, and a nice big water dispenser in the lobby with lemon infused water - a nice touch in our opinion. We didn't use the pool but looked around inside the pool area and it looked clean and well maintained. The staff was very friendly, parking was plentiful, and location was convenient. The one drawback, and this is not the fault of the hotel, is the very loud geese! Our room faced the Walmart parking lot and the geese seemed to enjoy hanging out at Walmart and made a ton of noise as soon as it started to get light out. I don't know if it's just in spring or what, but I'd suggest bringing good earplugs or having a white noise app running on your phone, that would help! We'd stay there again, though, we felt it was a great hotel!

I would find something else when in the area. Room smelled heavily like cigarette smoke. Not the cleanest. We tried to change rooms but we’re unable to. They said they would give a portion of our money back which we agreed but it wasn’t what they said it would be. They ended up canceling our room so we didn’t get the points that we should have.

Service: Leanna and Lana where amazingly supportive when assisting with a situation! Thank you ladies for being kind and understanding! These two make a great team! :) Our family really appreciate the time and energy it took you in helping us out!

Stayed two nights over Thanksgiving. The pool was good. I didn’t use it but grandson did. Little cool for me. Breakfast was okay. Our room was kind of dirty. Found a few things like a beer can under bathroom sink, dog food or something under some furniture, and a poker chip. Lol. We did get a little discount due to the messy room. Beds and everything else was fine. Our room was two queens and a sofa.
