Riverside Hot Springs Inn & Spa Adults Only

This hotel was not as advertised. The pictures look so much better than it looks in person. It is old, broken down and drafty. There is nothing spa-like about this hotel. For breakfast you had one choice and your choice was microwaved. Find somewhere else to stay.

We spent two nights at this historic property with so much character and an excellent staff! The rooms are very comfortable and en suite bathrooms are great. We do not have that great water pressure at home! You can schedule private soaking tubs and we really enjoyed the very nice suits. The breakfast was included and everyone in our party of four raved about the quiche and Pig in a Puff. Dinner on site was excellent!!! Lamb, salmon, chicken picatta, great wine selection, and Derek, Will, and their staff are fine dining experts and very welcoming. It was a celebration evening and one we won't forget. The town is so cute with nice stores and everything you need. Just two minute walk to the hot spring pool and only $8 entry fee.

Had mixed feelings about this hotel. It's an old building that has been updated over the years and it has an interesting history. The room and bathroom were clean and the bed was comfortable. However, we were on a road trip and had several items of luggage and there was no room for them. We were continually stepping over our cases. There was also limited hot water and no hairdryer which I ( wrongly) assumed was an essential item in every hotel. We didn't have an evening meal at the hotel restaurant but breakfast was included in our room rate. This was cooked to order and was nice enough but it took so long! After we had placed our order we waited 15 minutes to be told that one of the items was not available. When I looked at other reviews I noticed that this item seems to be continually out of stock. Overall I think the hotel is probably suited to travellers who want to spend a relaxing weekend in Lava Hot Springs and who don't have much luggage!

The hotel isn't much to look at from the road, but the historic inside was really interesting. They don't even consider the idea to let you check in early (there's a sign saying so) and they're really strict about check out too. I reserved a queen room, but when we got to it, the bed was awful. It was obviously a double bed and was sagging in the middle. The room (207) was yellowed and outdated, though the bathroom was nice. When I complained about the room, they upgraded us to a King bedroom for free. It was tons better and the bed was super comfortable. The hot springs in the basement were really nice and we loved our 30 minutes in a private pool with a locking door. The breakfast was delicious as well. This isn't the hotel's fault, but if you are staying in Lava Hot Springs, bring good earplugs. The stupid trains pass by several times a night and they honk their horns loudly every time. It woke me up 4-5 times so I slept badly

The building is super old and quaint, so very charming. Staff were all very friendly and our room (I think it was the main 'suite') was beautiful - bed was super comfy and the bathroom, wow! Sadly, the makeshift air con unit with the hose hanging out of the window and the gap taped up let the room down, as did the smell - a strong food/cooking/burgers smell. We tried the hot springs which was definitely a novelty, although I'm not sure how clean either the water or the bath was. We ate at the hotel restaurant and while the food was AMAZING, it was very quiet in there (verging on awkward) and we were told that the kitchen was actually closing at 8pm, which seemed very early.
