Residence Inn by Marriott Des Moines West

Joe at the front desk was superb! He was friendly and professional. Initially when I arrived a young lady at the front desk told me my “roll away bed “ was not available, even though when I booked I was told it was on my reservation .Later that evening she brought me a dirty pillow she exchanged it ;but it left me thinking where on earth did she get a dirty pillow ! To make matters worse my daughter forgot her AirPods in the room; her Apple phone App states that it’s there on the property yet no one can locate it . I spoke with the MOD Adam who was polite and stated he would try to locate it; but I haven’t heard anything as yet even though the App places the AirPods at the location. I give it three stars based on my experience.

Great customer service. Very clean and a great location as well. Everything you need is very close by. Coffee was spot on as well. There is a theater, Dave&Busters, and a mall right here as well so if you have kids it is a perfect spot to keep everyone happy!!

I had an amazing experience at the West Des Moines Marriott at Jordan Creek Town Center, thanks to Kammie (barista). She was so welcoming and friendly from the moment I walked in. Not only did she greet me warmly but remembered my name and made me feel at ease. Overall, a wonderful experience and I will be returning to this hotel. I will highly recommend this location to my business partners, friends and family.

We're in Des Moines for a wedding, chose this hotel because of its location. The layout of the room is nice and the staff is accommodative. BUT, this hotel is being renovated and it's NOISY. There were 2 large dumpsters directly beneath our window (room 231) and the back parking lot is filled with construction materials and large metal containers with heavy metal doors. The work crew starts at 5:45 AM! (even on Saturdays!) so we are jarred awake by the sounds of a forklift backing up, beeping incessantly, and dumping bins into the dumpsters and opening/closing the doors metal containers. The room directly above us is being renovated so there's hammering, sawing, sanding, during the day. Forget about getting any rest during the day between activities or a good night's sleep. This hotel shouldn't rent out room that are adjacent to, or below or above, the room(s) being renovated but it seems it's putting profit before people. The staff did offer to move us on Friday but we didn't think there would be construction on a weekend. When we realized there would be, we called back to take the offer of another room only to be told the hotel was sold out. We are being moved today, Saturday, so maybe we can get 1 (out of 3) good night's sleep. IF you decide to stay here, ask a LOT of questions about room location to ensure you're not anywhere near the renovations (which will mean you'll probably be the unrenovated, shabbier part of the hotel where some other wedding guests were but at least it will be quieter).

I am currently staying at this location. I've been here on business since August 10, 2024. The location is excellent. Plenty shopping opportunities and restaurants in walking distance. There is a picturesque walking trail behind the hotel. The staff has been excellent. Managers Allie and Tammy are very accommodating and always have a smile and positive energy. The front desk staff: Jamelle; Josie; and Isabella are friendly and always ask about my day when I return from work. Jamelle works the morning shift, and he always tells me to have a nice day. I also want to shout out one particular lady on the housekeeping staff. Her name is Zaina. When I tell you she is fabulous, believe me she is. She spent so much time cleaning and scrubbing my room, as if it was her home. I left her in the room and went to put laundry in the machine and visited with coworkers. When I returned, Zaina was still cleaning. I went downstairs to breakfast and returned. She was still there wiping down the headboard on the bed and dusting the nightstands. I have not experienced this level of cleaning in the entire 2 months that I have been here. Zaina is a Rock Star! She certainly went above and beyond to ensure my room was comfortable for me. She deserves special recognition! Things beyond the control of the staff: The hotel itself is outdated. It definitely needs renovating. The carpet, drapes and furniture are dingy and worn. It's clean, but old.
