Hyatt Place West Des Moines Jordan Creek

Called the front desk for linen for the pull out couch and they said you can come get them at the front desk great service 😂.. not what you are expecting when you check in at a hotel. I was expecting better service especially from a newer hotel. I will definitely be checking other hotels in 2 weeks when we come back

Very comfortable, clean and accommodating. Definitely will come back next trip to DSM. Friendly staff including for very late check-in the first night. Breakfast looked good but I had business plans. Absolutely enjoy the sitting area in the room for work and relaxation.

4.5 out of 5 stars Overall good experience and great value! My room was clean and comfortable. Larger than typical TV and couch. I liked the fresh fruit at breakfast. The choices weren't as vast as other hotels, but it was sufficient. Location: Great location near lots of restaurants and shopping. Safe feeling neighborhood. Noise: The walls were thin and you could hear people in the halls, however, with the room fan on constant, it was enough to block it out for sleeping.

This is a good hotel overall. It seemed safe & reasonably clean. The front desk staff were professional. The bed and pillows are very comfortable. The soundproofing is poor. We could hear people in other rooms talking (not shouting), coughing, engaging in amorous adventures, etc. The bathroom door design is moronic. It's a pocket door with a spring of sorts at the end of its travel; so, at least in our room, it was impossible to close the bathroom door without a very large bang - annoying for others in the room (and probably neighboring rooms) if used late at night or early in the morning. One could see where the weight/velocity of the door impact had cracked the door frame. Hyatt Place hotels usually have relatively good free breakfasts, compared to other chains, with a some variety each day. At this location, however, the options were 99% the same each of the several mornings we breakfasted here. The lack of change/variety was disappointing, compared to past experience at Hyatt Place properties - an opportunity here for the property manager. Overall, this is a good choice if you are looking for a reasonably priced chain hotel and a base on the west side of Des Moines works well for your plans.

I had an excellent experience at this hotel. It was modern, spotless, and comfortable. The room was quiet and the bed was just right. Breakfast was great with lots of choices. Staff was welcoming and helpful, and best of all, my checkout time was at noon. I would definitely stay here again if/when I come back to Des Moines.
