First, the location is wonderful so that bumped it up in the rating. Also, the valet staff are super friendly and helpful. This building is old, but not in the historic beautiful way. It looks like someone remodeled in the 70s and it hasnât been touched since. The bathtub was stained and was really gross. The pullout couch mattress could probably use a cleaning. Most important, the elevator was broken, so if you are traveling with a lot of luggage or people with disabilities, this is a challenge. Wish they would have alerted us before check in at 1am with no other options.

Elevator not working! Rooms not ready even at 6pm! Several others awaiting rooms and staff had no idea when rooms be ready. Front desk Staff didn't offer any options just that they are short staffed! Don't stay here. Cancelled our stay and we were left finding another hotel at last minute. Very happy as a long time Mariott member.

At the hotel now and the elevator is not working. We are on the 3rd floor and I am not supposed to do stairs. Heard from an employee that the elevator board was out 2 months ago and took 10 days to get it repaired. So the board is out again and hearing it will be a week to get another. Don't you think management would keep a backup after the first time? No rooms available on a lower floor. Employees are trying hard but would be hard pressed to stay here again. Looking for another hotel to move to. For reference, I am Titanium elite.

COCKROACHES! There were cockroaches in our kitchen on the first night. More importantly than this disgusting fact, was the way we were treated by management at this hotel while trying to deal with the situation. I spoke with the Assistant GM Jawana Mason, and was appalled with her attitude and disrespect towards me. She rolled her eyes, and told me she had just gotten back from vacation and didnât have time for âthisâ. I have left several messages for the General Manager, Anthony Trice, but he has not returned any of my phone calls. I would think that as a General Manager in the hospitality industry you would want to continue to strive to improve your hotel. Itâs hard to do that if you arenât willing to listen to your guests. I wanted to speak with Mr. Trice not only about cockroaches in his hotel, but also about the way the assistant manager is treating guests that have legitimate concerns. I have been a Marriott rewards member for 20 years. This hotel falls WAY BELOW the standards I have come to expect from Marriott. I expected to be treated with dignity and respect and that was not the case. I was reimbursed a fraction of the rewards points I redeemed to stay at this hotel, but that was only after I contacted corporate to file a complaint. Do yourself a favor, and stay at another hotel in the area. The are multiple problems with this hotel and it starts from the top.

My wife and I stayed at the RI for two nights. The hotel is centrally located and is less than a mile from the shops and restaurants downtown. We rented a car so we had to use the $35/day valet parking. The daytime valet guy was funny and engaging. We arrived at 12:30pm. Check-in was fast and our room was ready. However, the elevator was out of service so we walked up to the third floor to our room. When we returned later in the day the elevator was back in service. Thank god! The suite was clean and well appointed. There was a full kitchen and nice couch in the living room. We ate lunch at the Cuban restaurant across the street which was very good. Breakfast was touch and go. I had an early tee time and arrived at 6:30 ( Start of breakfast.) but it was not ready. I waited for ten minutes and finally grabbed a muffin and coffee and left. The following morning breakfast included eggs, sausage, egg/bacon sandwiches and waffles. Overall it was a very nice couple of days. The front desk people were friendly and helpful. We would definitely stay here again.
