avid hotel Savannah South Gateway

First time staying at an avid hotel. And I will stay again. What a great IHG property. The amenities are really great. The staff at checkin was super friendly and helpful telling me about the new hotel and recommended the Shell House restaurant next door and I will be back to this hotel I can assure you.

Motels along interstate 95 are usually unpredictable, but the Avid Hotel Savannah was a welcome surprise. The check in was seamless, room was spotless, breakfast was tasty and checkout with associate Shweta was delightful. This hotel is most certainly recommended. Thank you to all Avid staff for making our stay pleasing.

One of the absolute WORST hotel experiences of my life. My teenage daughter and I checked in on a Friday night around 7pm. Check-in was fine, but our room absolutely REEKED of smoke (non-smoking hotel.) It was so disgusting we walked in and walked right back out. The front desk was ZERO help. They refused us another room even though they had about 20 tickets of people who had not checked in yet. When I explained that my daughter was only fourteen and could not sleep in a smoky room FREDERICK at the front desk laughed in my face. He was not only totally unhelpful, but he was atrociously RUDE. I called support and spoke to several supervisors and a manager who promised to help and "call me right back" but did not. I finally received a call back the next morning, and after several back-and-forth calls was assured a new room and a refund by Josh (who visited the first room and agreed the smell was unacceptable). To our dismay, the new room smelled like a dirty dishrag. You know that old-bleach smell? That was it. I think someone ran through it with a dirty mop right before they gave it to us. Additonally, housekeeping came through the next day, but only gave us new towels. Did not clean the bathroom or even make a bed. To top it off I checked my credit card statement this morning and guess what? I was charged for the night Josh promised to comp. My advice: stay ANYWHERE ELSE.

Great option for those traveling with pets! The front desk staff was very helpful and answered any questions we had. They also made the check-in and check-out process simple. There was plenty of parking and everything in and around the hotel was very clean! I would definitely stay here again.

I recently went to avid hotel, and it was wonderful. The staff's friendliness and attentiveness made my stay truly special, and the rooms were impeccably clean and comfortable. They made us a heart design out of the towels on the bed. Small gestures like that go a long way! I can't recommend this hotel enough!
