Hampton Inn & Suites Rome

The staff was professional & friendly. I requested a room change & it was accomplished quickly. The hotel is very clean. The parking lot is well lit. The hotel is conveniently located to downtown restaurants. The “free” breakfast was as expected.

I have mixed feelings about this place. It is new and in good physical shape. The pillows and...blah blah blah (the usual review words). My problem is how it is run. They charge enormous room rates (and in little Rome Georgia) sometime as high as almost $300/night (that is close to the cost of an average room in New York City!). But at the same time, they seem to be trying to maximize their profit by removing all the niceties. Anything not required by Hampton corporate in the breakfast area has been removed (I've stayed in many Hampton inn's of the years and this has the slimist breakfast I've seen even when I pay half the rate). They also used to have water/soda's for Hilton Honors member but removed that. These and many others are all small things, I'll admit. But for the prices they ask they should be overwhelming me with all these perks and more. I just don't get it. It doesn't seem like a sustainable business plan. I plan on staying somewhere else the next time I visit Rome. Somewhere that values me as a customer and doesn't just see me as revenue per night of stay.

They have remodeled since we stayed here last. They are very small rooms but there is no more carpet and it was clean!! The real gem here is Patricia at the front desk. She is not only funny but honestly just great at her job. She is helpful and makes everyone feel at home every time. Breakfast was just okay, I mean the food - the people are friendly.

This hotel was adequate. The town is relatively small. The hotel options are limited. This property was older but VERY clean. I was appreciative that there was no carpet in the rooms. I felt it was cleaner as the floor could be mopped. The front dask staff and the breakfast staff was lovely. We were only there for a short time, but my stay was nice. Recommend.

This is probably the cleanest Hampton Inn my family and I have stayed in. The staff was very friendly. When we were leaving, our cooler fell off of the luggage cart, one of the kind employees helped me pick up my drinks from the ground. I later gave her one of my energy drinks and said thank you. She is a kind person and this should he recognized, I am a first responder and strive to help others no matter the situation. Thank you for what you do ma'am. Hopefully the general manager reads this and recognizes her for a job well done. Bless you and your family.
