Hampton Inn Savannah I 95 Richmond Hill

For an off highway hotel it was pretty much as expected. Clean, quiet and the technology worked as expected. A few things to note; the floors creaked when I or others in the rooms around me walked around the room. Honestly can't think of another hotel where I've heard this. The mattress was pretty worn out. I tried both sides and neither was better than the other. Lastly, the exits and road in front of the hotel had lots of traffic, pretty much all the time. Apparently folks are moving to this area from Savannah.

When on the road with family, I always choose Hampton Inn. Some are better than others, but I've never had a complete dud. This accommodation does not live up the the best of Hampton Inn. Just one example---arriving tired after a day on Interstate 95, I thought we might be able to heat up dinner in the microwave. For the room I booked, we had to request a microwave. And...we were too tired to mess with that when we finally arrived. The bathroom was clean. We no longer expect the little bottles of shampoo, lotion, etc. but a small, travel-sized bar of soap is generally provided. On the plus side, there were plenty of plugs/charging stations, etc. However, with so many Hampton Inns in the area, I will choose a different one the next time we need an I-95 stop in this area.

We were traveling from ohio to Florida and needed to spend the night so we could continue our trip in the morning. We were startled awake due to loud music, talking and yelling at around 11:30 pm. This went on for quite a few hours and I had to call the front desk to see if they could do something about it. They said they would go up and find out what was going on. The next morning around 5 am it started all over again. The loud music, talking and yelling! It was crazy and, of course, woke us up again. I again had to call the front desk to tell them. They said they would go up to see what was going on, but this contined until we left in the morning. Needless to say, we didn't get any sleep! I am extremely unhappy that we had to put up with this. I paid $179 for the night. It just wasn't worth it for what we had to put up with. I don't feel management did enough to make our stay comfortable.

Rooms are clean they have breakfast Free parking... Right off 95 Elevator was slow and always seemed to smell Bad they allow pets but a lot of people didn't pick up there dog Poop so watch out if your in the grass... They have small gym ... Front desk guy was nice and helpful... still waiting to get my 25$ snack fee back that they make you put in your card

We decided to give this Hampton a try due its Honors points redemption value - it was by far the lowest of the Savannah-area highway options. I have to admit I was wary due to the mixed reviews online, but we figured the bargain of a price could make us overlook some details like the age of rooms. The front desk agent, Zoltan, was incredibly friendly and a great first impression for the property. Our room, which was upgraded to a king with study a few days before checking in, was overall clean though cosmetically worn in some areas (especially the bathroom). While I did notice a smell in the room when I first entered, as mentioned in some other reviews, it never bothered me once in the room (and I’ve had various issues with cleaning products, mold, etc. at other hotels in the past). Based on other reviews, I would imagine your mileage may vary based on the room, but ours was generally fine. The property overall is definitely older and could benefit from a renovation. Some common areas, like the breakfast area and stairwell, emphasized the age of the property - yet I was surprised to see the fitness center had a Peloton! Safety wise, we felt uneasy in the parking lot at times; there was a guy who kept circulating the lot on his bike and would mumble while sitting on the curb for periods of time, and we noticed a large group at the Econo Lodge next door observing us closely while we unloaded our car. The area is limited in its offerings, as fast food is pretty much your only option with KFC and Wendy’s in walking distance (it appears even Waffle House closed). Similarly, breakfast offerings at the hotel were pretty average. We would probably wait until the hotel is renovated to return, but think it’s a half-decent value if the cash / points cost is low enough.
