Little Ocmulgee State Park and Lodge

Nice campground. The lodge restaurant was not open even though the sign out front said open 6-9. We were just passing thru for one night so we did not do any activities. I was surprised at how crowded this campground was for February. The host was very friendly and helpful when we pulled in at 6:30. We had a pull through spot with water and electricity, no sewer. $67

The desk clerk was accommodating and understanding when we had to be moved twice and ultimately left because of the unsanitary conditions. There was dirt and hair in the bed, and the sheets, duvet, and mattress pads had stains including dried blood.

I recently stayed one night at the Little Ocmulgee Lodge in McRae while in the area for business. When it comes to hotel there are not a lot of options in the McRae-Helena area and usually you have to stay 45 mins away. But I decided to try the Little Ocmulgee lodge, and was very pleasantly surprised by my stay. The lodge rooms have been recently renovated and despite having an exterior motor lodge look, the rooms themselves are clean, modern, and comfortable. My only complaint is my room didn't have a work desk. Otherwise, the bathroom was huge, the bed was big and comfortable (a little firm, but I like it) and the AC worked great. The wifi in the room was fast and free as well. The shower in the morning could use some better water pressure, but nothing too terrible. I had both dinner in the lodge pub and breakfast in the lodge restaurant and both were great. I would totally recommend this place to anyone looking for business or pleasure lodging near McRae. And I can't wait for them to renovate their cabins for next year!

We usually camp here when heading to the mountains, but due to weather we spent the night in a lodge room. It was very clean and comfortable. We appreciated the small fridge for our cold camping supplies. It was nice to just walk to the grill for dinner. The food was good and reasonably priced. Staff was very friendly and efficient. The breakfast buffet was okay but I think a bit overpriced. We look forward to staying again.

Only here for one night and killed two roaches, had flies, and set the thermostat on 74 and it didn’t get above 60 on a cold night. Front desk did call after i left to ensure the boots i left were meant to be thrown away (they were) so that was very courteous. The other party in our group did not have the issues we had, but our issues did not make for an enjoyable experience and just didn’t allow me to feel like I was staying in a very clean place.
