Heidi Motel Helen

We stay on the ground floor of the windmill (room 31). I chose this room based on three desired features: 1) king size bed, 2) fireplace, and 3) hot tub. After returning from dinner the day we checked in, we found that the hot tub was not functioning due to a "FL" fault code on the hot tub. I contacted management who wanted us to switch rooms. I said no thank you, it's 9pm at night and we are already settled in this room and do not feel like packing up and relocating. At this point I did mention that I would be seeking a partial refund of the stay due to the hot tub not working. When we returned home, I again reached out to the motel stating that I thought 1/3 of the charges would be fair to be returned to me since one of the three desired amenities was not available. I was told that my request would be forwarded to management, and I would hear back from them the next day. The next day came and went with no word from the motel. I again reached out to the motel the next day and never heard anything back from them. They were more than happy and very prompt to charge my credit card for the full amount of the stay even though the hot tub was non-functioning.

We had a reservation in October 2024. I was concerned about them being able to still rent rooms. I cancelled within their cancellation schedule. I should not have been charged anything. The day after cancelling I was charged for 1 night. I contacted the hotel with no response. The day we were supposed to check in they charged the full amount to my credit card. They tried to give me check in info. I told them we had cancelled. I was told they would check. I disputed both charges with my credit card. I had emails and phone records re cancellation. I did receive my money back from the dispute. I’m really glad we chose a different hotel. I felt like they were disorganized and dishonest. Thank goodness I keep records of everything. I would definitely be careful of my credit card info if booking with Heidi Motel.

THEY NEVER CLEAN THE ROOMS IN BETWEEN GUESTS and charge you a cleaning fee!! Kitchen was probably cleaned one month ago and bathroom: MAN'S HAIR IN THE SHOWER DRAIN!!! It's awful and so disappointing. Lack of respect and consideration to guests. I could smell the previous guest as soon as I opened the door. I understand it's not a 4 stars hotel, but the minimum you expect is CLEANING! I'll never go back or recommend this place to anyone.

Great location in downtown Helen. The rooms are a bit dated. Our bathroom door needed painting badly and some tissues in the bathroom are usually expected. Don't expect to be able to check in before 4pm unless you pay for it, not even an hour earlier. Our suite was around $300 and I think we could have done better for the price.

We had a king suite. The furnishings are super dated. The carpet was torn and filthy. Bath mat was absolutely gross. Had to get water for the coffee pot and our water bottles from the tub because they wouldn't fit under the sink faucet. Nasty and I will never stay here again. Oh and the mattress was also awful; no padding. I slept in a recliner. I expected better after reading the glowing reviews from some people.
