Their airport shuttle and pickup process is terrible. Their website and my parking receipt says pickups are from 4 AM to 2 AM. However, the frequency of pickup from the airports is almost non-existent. On top of that, there are ill-informed front desk reps like Green, an African American at the reception said that pickups from the airport only happen after 7 AM. Why is he misinforming people? If he does not have the knowledge, he should just say I don’t know. Why is their parking and shuttle process so inefficient? Why isn’t a direct shuttle number provided that will indicate the current status of the shuttle? When you get in through the gates to park, you get a ticket. Then, the valet manually checks your confirmation email and gives you a green tag to place in the car which also has a departure date. However, there is nothing on the green tag that will allow you to exit. You need another ticket and for that you have to go the reception again and deal with people like Green. I showed the green tag to him, in spite of that he again wanted to check the confirmation email again. This is sheer harassment for someone who is traveling at 5:30 in the morning. When I told him that, he said that I could wait until 7 for the valet. Why can’t an exit ticket be given when the car is parked, so that customers do not have to run around and show the confirmation 10 times to 10 different people?

Tired and not very clean. Bathroom had mold and rust. There must be better choices. We only stayed there because Delta had to put us up after a crew issue delayed a connecting flight causing us to miss our flight home. I would not chose this hotel.

I was stranded in Atlanta overnight because of a missed connection at the airport. I picked this hotel and was very pleasantly surprised. The room and hotel were very clean, the restaurant had good food and really good service. There was a free shuttle from the airport and everyone I dealt with were professional and friendly. I definitely would stay here again.

Spartan, worn room with peeling wallpaper. About what you would expect for a bottom of the line motel, except it cost $308 for a night (breakfast not included). It also took us about a month of repeatedly hounding Sonesta just to get a receipt. They do have a shuttle to take you to the airport, though.

We were given a voucher by our airlines because we missed our connecting flight home and was assigned to this hotel. The Hotel Shuttle picked us up from the Atlanta airport. The Shuttle at pickup & return was so crowded that the aisles were full of standing customers. The driver was trying to get everyone to the hotel-but I think it was a safety issue. Upon arrival there were 2 lines for check in-one line for voucher (at least 20 people) and another line for “paying customers”. (In the time we waited he assisted 3 customers). Why the other staff person didn’t assist those in line is baffling. We were curtly given our room key. I asked about a toothbrush (all our luggage was kept at the airport) and was ignored. When I asked about a second key card I was told you only get 1 card. We were assigned an accessible roll in shower as requested. The room was quite warm. My husband after trying multiple times couldn’t get the AC to come on. When we tried to call the desk from the hotel room we discovered the phone cord was missing. I had to call on my cell. I was put on hold for 10 minutes & finally went to the desk. He thought I hung up. He moved us next door where the AC worked. I questioned the cleanliness of the room. The clock appeared to have caked on grime. There was a sign in the room stating they only clean the room every 6 days. If you want the room cleaned more often you need to submit in writing the day before a request to clean the room. This is NOT a long term stay hotel. The room itself double bed which I believe is small for a higher end hotel. The first room the bathroom was not stylish, but very spacious. The staff appear to treat customers like cattle-unless you’re a “paying customer”. In my opinion the rooms that we saw needed renovation. The decor was what I would expect from an economy hotel, but with poorer cleaning policies. The staff possibly understaffed appear to be cold. The one gentleman who was handling the “paying guests” did assist us with another room. Apparently Sonesta took over the hotel from Marriott some time ago. I’ve had little experience with Sonesta. Many years ago Sonesta was considered a high end hotel chain. There are plenty other clean hotels near the airport. We previously stayed at Embassy Suites and Holiday Inn both good choices. I would NEVER stay there again.
