Hilton Garden Inn Atlanta Buckhead

This HGI was a Doubletree where I stayed multiple times. Unfortunately the new owners have downgraded this property to a lesser Hilton brand hotel. Rooms, especially bathrooms desperately need renovation. The only good thing is the new towels. The breakfast quality has gone way down. Dining Room for dinner was closed both nights of my stay. The three helpful staff members who impressed me are Jai, Jeshua at front desk, Juan the engineer and Laura from housekeeping.

I stayed here because i had stayed at this hotel on prior trips and it was nice and clean. It in a well-lit area and I felt safe. During my most recent stay, my car was vandalized. Someone broke into my car and broke the passenger driver side window. I was awakened at 2am by my car's alarm. There was a security guard who was supposed to be monitoring the parking lot, but apparently his iPhone scrolling took all of his attention. Same security guard was very helpful as he duct taped a trash bag to my car window as I prepared for my 4-hour drive back home to Savannah, GA. The hotel staff informed that the parking lot camera's were inoperable and the security guard has always been sufficient for their location. I will never feel safe at that place again. Also, they broke into two others cars that morning.

The highlight of our stay was Parker C., our valet. He was incredibly professional, efficient, and courteous. In contrast, the rest of the staff felt unrefined and indifferent, as if assisting us was a burden. Thanks to Parker, the valet experience felt truly five-star

The hotel was very clean, everything worked, and everything was beige. So very corporate and not very personal. There is a small bar and restaurant adjacent to the lobby. This is good, in my opinion. Out of convenience I dined there, and the food was pretty average. The only really downside of the experience, was a couple of guests that was very very loudly arguing or fighting between about 3 AM to 5 AM in the corridor to my room. I think they will tell should’ve been quicker to calm them down, or have the police do the same thing.

Reserved connecting rooms only to find the doors drilled shut. Not acceptable when staying with kids. Very stained mattress on the pull out couch in replacement room. Staff handed us sheets to make the bed ourselves and never came back with pillows, despite us asking for them. Charged twice for valet, so I had to work with front desk to get it removed even though it should not have happened to begin with. If you are going to charge $45 for valet, they better come with the quickness. It took 20+ min every time for us to get our car, one time it took just over 30 minutes and I was consequently late for an appointment.
