Best Western Savannah Historic District

This was the worst hotel experience I ever had. Let’s see where do I start when we first pulled into the hotel the hotel staff were in the parking lot grilling food for themselves. When we finally got into our room after the staff finished eating it wasn’t thoroughly cleaned and the room had many maintenance issues. The shower didn’t work right most of the water came out of the bath faucet so the shower had little to no pressure. The AC thermostat control was hanging off the wall. Housekeeping was terrible they didn’t even replace the pillow cases or bedding. The facility itself was filthy and run down. People were smoking all in the common areas it was disgusting. The parking lot was horrible not enough spots for every guest they were doubling up and blocking others from getting out including myself I had to wait 30 minutes for the manager to wake up the guest who was blocking my car so I could leave in the morning. This place is in serious need new of new management. I highly recommend not staying here.

Although the location was good the place needs complete updating. Very worn and need of repair. Breakfast the first day was adequate but the staff person had an attitude. The second days breakfast was very good and the staff member, Faith, did a wonderful job and was very personabe.

Filthy room. Walking barefoot in room, our feet turned black. We'd wash our feet, then they'd get black again within an hour. Broken security lock; only a deadbolt. Ripped top bed sheet. Blood stain on bedspread. Broken bathroom door handle... couldn't completely shut bathroom door without difficulty.

The room was very noisy due to traffic all through the night. This included drag racing and motorcycle revving. The breakfast was largely processed, not fresh. The room was cleaned 1 out of 3 nights. This was not like my usual experience at Best Westerns.

Check-in was 4 PM. We arrived at 2 PM. Room was ready but we were told there was a $30 early check-in fee so we waited to check in. It costs to park on the grounds. We were in room 116 which was a first floor end unit. It was shabby and dark. Amenities included a sound machine, which was necessary because there was very little soundproofing and the road noise was horrific. The door handle lock and deadbolt were old and worn. By Day 3 they were both inoperable and we had to wait for a maintenance man to come because there was no way to secure our room. The maintenance man managed to get the door handle lock ONLY to work and said he’d try to find a replacement for the entire door handle/deadbolt unit, but he never returned. We stayed three nights and cut our stay short by two days because the room was so poor.
