I drove 4 hours to winter Park and understood this hotel and their rooms were not ADA BUT never expected there would be steps to get into the tiniest bathroom Iāve ever seen. The door to the patio also had a huge step over to get out there. The patio wasnāt the issue but the bathroom step is a safety hazard. As soon as we went up the elevator into the room, we saw it was not possible for my Husband to get into the bathroom. We checked out 10 mins later. The desk clerk said he would try to get me a partial refund but after two emails, no one has ever contacted me. My husband said the smell made him want a cigarette. At least they didnāt charge me for the 10 minute valet.

Just awful! Do not stay here. Dirty and broken. Charming lobby but once you get to your room you will see the horror. Donāt look too close at any corner! Tub is so close to toilet you have to sit sideways and smells like pee. Lights donāt work and they turned off the water in the morning without warning so I could not flush my waste down the toilet or wash my hands. When I complained they offered me a bucket!! Front desk lady lied about the water shutoff! Shame shame shame! Manager needs a class in hospitality 101. What a waste!

Entrance of hotel was nice but our king room was a disappointment. The shutters all broken so you canāt close them so expect early am sunlight in your eyes. Also early am noise from restaurant below they serve breakfast so you will hear loud music before 7 am. The AC dripped from the ceiling all night had to lay a towel down to absorb the water which the couple times getting up through the night walking on soppy wet towel and crawling in bed I didnāt want to climb over my husband to get out of the bed. Lastly the floors are really dirty and the wicker on the outdoor chairs are frayed so keep your clothes away from snagging. I love old historical hotels and waited till valentines to stay here, but I was truly disappointed. They should close it down do some remodeling and put fresh carpets down get the floors polished up and fresh and update outdoor furniture, I did notice on courtside the outdoor furniture was in much better condition. But it really needs some love and attention, it really has the capability of returning to its beautiful hotel it once was.

Well..I suppose thereās 2 stories here. The location directly on Park is great. Step outside and you are in the middle of the quaint shopping area of Winter Park. The staff was nice, friendly. Not luxury trained, so donāt expect a refined level of service, but they were nice folks. Aside from that, the hotel is a disaster. Yes itās āhistoricā and they have clearly kept allot of the historic ambiance, which is a cool concept idea, but itās really just old. Itās very old and beat up. Itās in horrible condition and dirty. The bathroom was dirty with mold on the ceiling, the plumbing fixtures were nearly broken off the wall. The walls had holes and large cracks in the plaster. The lamp shade was cracked and damaged. The lamp fixture itself was broken. The headboard was not properly attached to the bed frame so it banged against the wall. The hotel room door didnāt stay closed unless you dead bolted the door because the door was misaligned to the frame. The wooden shades in the room were broken and didnāt stay up. The leather chair in the lobby was totally dried out and cracked. These are just some of the examples of this hotel neglecting the fundamental, general maintenance of the property. Itās a very lazy, cheap way to run a hotel. These are not things that just happen with the guest before usā¦these are worn-out, beat up things that demonstrate long term neglect. What it really needs a MEASURABLE renovation in MANY ways, keeping the nostalgia and mixing in modern luxury elements, but highly doubt that will ever happen. They have been coasting for many years without investing in simple updates and repairs. The other close hotel is The Alfond Inn. This hotel is absolutely STUNNING. Without question will stay here moving forward.

Absolutely charming Hotel. We couldnāt say enough wonderful things about all the Staff. So friendly, accommodating, and all they wanted to do is make us happy. Shared fabulous restaurants and things to explore. Everything was very very clean. Look forward to stay there again.
