SpringHill Suites by Marriott Tampa Westshore Airport

This was the second year in a row that we stayed at this hotel before our cruise and each time John at the front desk went over and above in assistance. Last year we forgot our camera in the taxi from the airport and John was there to help anyway he could, (we did get our camera back). This year I broke my tooth before the cruise and again John went out of his way to help get an emergency dental appointment for me. It's service like this that always brings us back to this hotel. As for the hotel itself, the rooms, beds and pillows are all very comfortable. Breakfast is great and lots of choices. We will definitely be coming back here when back in Tampa.

Check in was great, staff was very friendly. Room was ready, could never figure out mobile access to room, but I had my keycard. Room was clean, bed was very comfortable, but it was definitely in need of some upgrades. There was not a hair dryer that I could locate, not a huge deal. Breakfast was hot and plentiful each morning, and it was different each morning. I would recommend for a weekend stay on business.

Went here for the Phillies spring training. Was an ok stay; a lil dark in the rooms over what my preference would be but still cant complain as thats just preference. I would've given this place a very good rating however, customer service over the telephone (not in the hotel) was lacking! I left something behind and they stated I could have it mailed back home. Was in conversations with 4 different people there and had explained had issues obtaining a label. Now, there was back and forth for about 3 wks trying to get assistance and playing phone tag with 1 of them but another never returned a call at all after 3 times of talking with her. I called again today and found out that they discarded my item as it was now 30 days. NO warning, NO reach out prior to discarding to at least give me the heads up ESPECIALLY knowing I needed assistance to get them a shipping label. I did reach out to corporate in regard to this and will see where it goes but other than the telephone customer service being piss poor with communication this was not a bad place or location.

Christina at check-in was wonderful, she acknowledged my BONVOY Level and everyone else’s checking whether TITANIUM or SILVER. She was happy to greet us and during my 4 nights and 5 days she always acknowledged everyone all the time I saw her with a smile.

The property is well maintained, and the staff is very welcoming. The pool area was also clean. We did not use the breakfast. My main complaint is that the room did not meet my expectations as a "suite" and had a very odd lay out. The kitchen area consisted of a sink, a fridge, larger than the college dorm type but not full size, and cabinets. In the microwave, they put some paper plates and plastic cutlery kit. There was a coffee maker with sugar packets, etc. No table to sit and eat. The TV was in the middle of the spaces between the living room area the bedroom area, which was not a separate room but all together. As a result, it was an odd neck position from the living room and in the bedroom, the person closest to the air conditioner (which was very loud) until could not see, the person closest to the TV also an odd neck position. There was only one tiny waste basket in the whole room, but we had bags from groceries that we could use as garbage bags. Housekeeping comes every other day, and when they were in the hall talked very loudly, although I am a light sleeper. We come down every year, and will not choose this hotel next yer.
