La Quinta Inn Tampa Airport Stadium Westshore

I read the negative reviews of this motel and I just don't understand why people are so NASTY. They must just be miserable. Get over yourselves, people. This place was perfectly fine. The Best Western we usually stay at when flying out of Tampa yanked their rate up to $231 a night, but we paid $123 for one night here, and it was worth it. You could WALK to the great IHOP a few yards away, and the Tampa airport was a 3 minute drive away, much closer than the Best Western. The room and bathroom were SPOTLESS. Great beds, nice and cool and quiet, good cable lineup, nice pool, ample well lit free parking, plenty of hot water with great pressure, and very friendly check in ladies. We felt perfectly safe. The hotel was completely booked because American Airlines had canceled like 50 flights at TIA today, and American paid to put them up HERE. No, it is not a resort. But it is a perfectly fine, safe and inexpensive place to stay if you want something close to the Tampa airport. Grade: A.

Reminds me of any hotel being raided on COPS. Bed was comfortable but very loud. Roaches in the room, the door did not seal aroynd the edges. Staff was mostly pleasant. Breakfast was microwave prepackaged waffles or cereal. Would not recommend

Extremely noisy room - you can hear every single person outside as well as vehicles on the lot and driving by and then the airplanes. Toilet also ran on and off all night. Room was mostly clean although stains on the bedding. Motel is very much showing it's age. Checkout staff was snarky when they asked how my stay was and I mentioned the noise. Also, our room rate was very expensive for what this place is.

Don't stay here! We had to move rooms 4 times due to roaches. The 3 rooms on the first floor had roaches. Fourth room was on the 2nd floor, no elevator and my husband had knee surgery so it was difficult to get the suitcases up the stairs. Then they charged me for the room when I used points. I finally got it reversed but it took awhile and a couple of phone calls to managers to get it done. At 12:30am a person was trying to get into our room and threw her bags against the door and was yelling. I called to the front desk and the person gave her a different room. I felt bad for the girl at the front desk when we had to move rooms and I am sure other people had issues as well. Although when we did tell her about the roaches she did say "this is Florida". First time staying at a Laquinta, last time!

Easy shuttle service to/from airport. Friendly staff. Room clean and comfortable. Breakfast was continental but had egg/sausage sandwiches to microwave which was heartier option. Overall a satisfactory choice for a one night stay when we had a late night arrival.
