AC Hotel by Marriott Tampa Airport

We had trouble finding this hotel since construction was right in front of hotel and GPS kept looping us around. We called front desk and a lovely lady Christine helped guide us in. She was waiting for us outside by front door. She couldn't have been anymore helpful!! We went up to our room which was exactly like other AC Marriott hotels. This hotel seemed not as fresh as other AC Marriotts to me. The beds were cozy and room was clean. Good location to airport.

Was in town for medical appointments, hotel has good location and decent bar. Went to go take a shower in the morning, NO HOT WATER. Called front desk, said they would send someone. 15 minutes later no one has showed up, call again, wait 5 minutes and no one. We have to started 'hobo-showering' then they show up in another 10 minutes, I can't let them in as we're trying to get dressed and ready to go for the doctor's appointment. I got a call saying someone from Engineering will check on, get back to hotel water is now hot, they leave a free drink voucher. Nice, but not really an apology for something this big. Engineering then comes to the room but we can't understand his English, not his first language not a big issue but he can't tell me if it will happen tomorrow morning again either. Tried to switch hotels to avoid issues but Marriott corporate is no help. Decided to stay, no apology from management. No reassurance it won't happen the next morning. Very poor follow up with a customer. Go to check out next day, and Shane doesn't even bother to ask how my stay was. Just asked if I needed a receipt and said I was good to go. As a lifetime Platinum member, this had to be one of the worst experiences with a hotel front desk staff since NY when the staff robbed our room.

First and foremost I would like to just praise the ENTIRE staff at the AC Hotel in Tampa. Our trip literally was made so peaceful because of them even when we weren't on the property and for that I implore Marriott Corporate give them a raise and bonuses :-). We came down to Tampa for a wedding and got in a day early. We decided to stay at the AC Hotel near the airport to unwind before we traveled to the wedding hotel (another Marriott property). Upon just being picked up from the airport we felt super welcomed by the staff. Alejandra (who picked up up via the shuttle) really set the tone for the start of our stay in Tampa. She gave us all the best recommendations for the area. After the first night we were already sad we had to leave to go to the wedding hotel. They were so accommodating and really helpful. The rooms were VERY clean and pristine & housekeeping staff was also very friendly. We only had one major issue which was the thermostat not working, but Alejandra, Stephanie and the rest of the staff at the AC addressed it in whiplash time. In the blink of an eye the issue was resolved and it didn't require multiple calls to the front desk or constant back and forth. The whole staff at the AC hotel is very attentive and friendly and made it so we wanted to come back. We actually ended up canceling our last night at the wedding hotel and booking our departure stay at the AC (as its proximity to the airport is absolutely PERFECT). After wedding festivities at the other hotel and I can honestly say, it was an absolute RELIEF to be back at the AC. The amount of joy to be welcomed back by staff and the amazing aromatherapy scent throughout the hotel was GREATLTY welcomed. As I mentioned earlier the tone that was set by Alejandra and Stephanie upon our first night really allowed my husband and I to bear through the atrocities at the other hotel because we knew our trip was going to end with a more pleasant stay at the AC and their wonderful staff. Now for the property, as soon as you walk in you are greeted by the pleasant aroma therapy scent of "Between the Woods" which they sell in the onsite convenience store (we bought 2 candles). The scent really puts you at ease and lets you know you're in for a relaxing stay. My husband and I are from NYC where its always so busy, so we appreciated small details that cater to ones well being especially after flying. There is a laundry facility on site which is very clean and affordable ($3.50 - $4 for a wash and $3 for 45 min of drying), laundry bags are provided at the front desk. They have a small gym, 2 Peloton bikes for those who like Peloton, treadmill and elliptical along with Free weights and 1 multiuse weightlifting machine (its a small gym but great to get in that quick work out or cardio session), they provide head phones and towels. The pool is a nice size for relaxation and splashing around the water (deepest is 5ft). There is a contemporary / modern kitchen / lounge area called AC Kitchen (which charges $18 for breakfast) but breakfast includes their selection of European style buffet items and 1 order of an A la carte item. The AC lounge area is where you can get drinks and made to order food. When we were there it was always so busy but not to the point it seems stressful to get food and drinks. If on site hotel food is not your thing there are a bunch of restaurants around including Texas de Brasil and Cooper Hawk Winery both which are also excellent choices. There is a nail salon about a block away from the hotel AND a hair salon. The hotel is also conveniently located across from International Plaza Mall which you can either walk to (its about .7 miles) or arrange the hotel shuttle to drop you off or pick you up (we walked because to us it was like being back in NYC where everything is conveniently located). There is also free parking on site, but if you dont plan to drive its about a $15 Uber/Lyft ride to Downtown Tampa area so you will be fine. TL:DR - Book the hotel, you will have no regrets and get to have an amazing stress free time in Tampa with proximity to the airport and short cab ride to downtown when you arrive and time to leave. And the rooms and hotel look EXACTLY like the photos (Trip advisor wont let me upload the video I took)

Had a REALLY good stay here. The pool is awesome, room was quiet and had a great TV-internet-shower and HVAC controls (when you have someone mention HVAC in a review you know they must be good ha). Free airport shuttle and covered parking. There's sit-down restaurant food right across the street (I went to Outback) but I also went to Sonic for fast food on Dale Mabry right around the corner as well. I just really liked this place bc I think it was a really good combo of upscale yet comfortable in a good location surrounded by amenities near TPA and the freeways.

AC Hotel Tampa Airport After a week of terribly designed hotels, I was so pleased to enter this room: A modern and tasteful room with no carpet and a spacious bathroom with a real vanity. It had enough towels and a hair dryer with a cord long enough to reach the mirror. A full bank of benches that could be used for sitting or bags or suitcases. A real desk. Lamps. Quiet. Clean white linens with comfortable pillows. A safe, an ironing board, water, a full length mirror, a phone. I was so very happy. Until the Internet didn’t work. So. Very. Annoying. Breakfast on site was not extensive, but reasonable. The on site snack cove had decent options. And front desk service was helpful and friendly. The bathroom had usable Korres products, though their “citrus” scent reminded me more of a male teen in the 90s than of a grapefruit or a lemon. Very conveniently located to both the airport and to International Plaza Mall. Would I stay again: yes. It was my favorite hotel room in 6 consecutive days of traveling.
