Staybridge Suites Tallahassee an IHG Hotel

We were with a group this past week that booked 40 rooms. Our daughter was the first to arrive. We had called them to say we were arriving early morning and were assured our room would be ready. It was not and they offered her a handicap room or the night. The following day we went to see about moving her back into one of the rooms we had reserved. The manager, a middle-aged man, refused, saying she had okayed the room for the week. We tried to explain being part of the wedding meant they had dresses that needed to be hung up. The handicap rooms did not have that feature. He refused to move her room and mentioned he could not care less if her dress or our stay was ruined. He did everything he could to be rude and arrogant the entire weekend. When I told him I was a magazine writer, he encouraged me to write a lousy hotel review as they made him laugh. The hotel was very nice; the other staff were terrific and constantly feared him yelling and chiding them. The buffet was one of the best I have had. I travel a lot for work and meet many hotel managers, this guy takes the cake. It is a lovely venue, but beware of the man behind the curtain, who seems to care only about his ego and nothing else. If it were not for him, this would be a 5-star rating.

We stayed here for one night and enjoyed it. The rooms are huge and designed for extended stays. There is a kitchen, living room and one or two bedrooms. They have a buffet breakfast in the morning like most IHG properties. The rooms are very spacious and clean but seem like some of the fixtures are a little dated. The only small issue we had is that the dishes were left dirty in the dishwasher and the coffee maker had the used coffee packet from the prior guest which was not the end of the world. The property is on a big pond which is nice. We enjoyed our one night stay.

This property is very convenient for those that want somewhere quiet to sleep but do not want to deal with the traffic and chaos of Tallahassee. This hotel seemed like the best fit for me as a night stop while traveling through the Panhandle. The area around the hotel is quiet and even though you're right next to I-10, I didn't hear it at all. The room price was very fair. As for the cleanliness, the room looked mostly clean and I appreciate that the bed seemed clean. However, there were stains on furniture and hair in places like towels and the tub. The bed wasn't very supportive. The feel of this hotel is somewhat dated and a location this prime deserves some attention/investment by IHG to renovate it. The breakfast was okay. I wish there were more hot available. But it's free. Parking is also free and seemed plentiful. I really enjoyed the quiet location. The staff reached out to me during my stay, which is always a nice gesture. I would stay here again.

We have stayed here before and like this location very much. It is in a quiet area in the Business park. It is near the interstate, but you can not hear traffic from your room. We love the King suite. It gives you a small living area and kitchen so you are not stuck just sitting on the bed the entire time in the room. The hotel is very clean. The breakfast was average. There were some parking lot lights out that we reported to the office. The kitchen was stocked with the bare minimum items. It will have to be restocked soon.

This place is just wonderful. I put my family here while they visited over Christmas. Everyone went out of their way. Polite. Friendly. Helpful. The lakefront view was so appreciated and really was relaxing. Stress free for sure. Thank you everyone at Staybridge Suites.
