Homewood Suites by Hilton St. Augustine San Sebastian

This was our first time staying in a Homewood Suites. With the exception of the lady that checked us in on 4/17, we have never seen such rude employees. The parking situation was ridiculous. You could choose valet or not, but both ways cost $25 per day to sit in the lot directly out front of the hotel. If there was room, valet could be parked in a few spots under the left side of the hotel. The goal of getting you to say valet was definitely the tip that was charged online when you used the app to request your car that was directly in front of the hotel door. The breakfast included was so so. There was a nice sign stating that if you had dietary restrictions to speak to an employee. We spoke to two who were extremely rude and had no idea if anything was GF. The rooms were nice and large. Towels were limited and in a two night stay there is no housekeeping. Location was good - not to far from the downtown area.

This is a very comfortable hotel in a convenient, but quiet location near the tourist area of St. Augustine. It is far enough away from the main area to be quiet and restful, but close enough to be only a short distance by car or walking to the main area of sights. We had a very nice room overlooking the water area which was tidal and attracted a variety of birds. We were here for 4 nights and all the staff we encountered were very nice. The room and the beds were very comfortable. Breakfast was good with enough different selections. Most of the parking seems to be valet at a mandatory price of $25 a night. There was never a delay in getting our car and we were in and out a lot. There is an outdoor lot at the hotel which seemed to be for non valet parking, but that may have been for long term guests - not sure.

Excellent hotel stay overall! Just my wife and I. A lot of families when we were there. Still an enjoyable stay. Breakfast has a plethora of good tasting options. After breakfast never hear or saw other children, even though it was spring break. Rooms were very spacious, up to date, and very clean. Staff was very happy to help with any questions we had. We will definitely stay here next time we come back!

The location of this hotel is within walking distance to historic St. Augustine which is great. The valet parking here seems unnecessary but the valets were very friendly and helpful. Our check in experience was odd, staff member wasn’t rude, but very matter of fact, not welcoming. Breakfast was decent and breakfast staff were friendly. Cleanliness of the room definitely could’ve been better, the cabinets in the kitchenette were greasy and had food residue on them, hair and food crumbs in the freezer and a mark on the side of the tub from maybe a bottle or can, probably from the previous guest??.Hotel room is in need of some minor repairs. Overall not a bad stay, but we would probably choose a different place for the next visit.
