Probably cheapest hotel around Sarasota. Great location and they claimed to have fully recently renovated everything. The staff was great and accommodating to a degree, but the bathroom was horrible. The shower is an odd shape and the wall on the tile had a big crack down the middle as if an earthquake hit it. The caulking on the bottom of where the glass meets the tile was as if a child dumped elmers glue along it. The grout in between the tan floor tiles was tan, so it naturally didn't look good, which is fine, but it was clearly dirty all on the grout throughout the entire shower, and on top of that the shower smelled like stale pee that had not been cleaned in a week. We flushed the toilet and ran the fan and came back several hours later at night and the smell had not gone away. I asked to change rooms or something, went to another room and it looked the exact same, beside the pee-smell. So we decided to stay since all other hotels were too expensive. Free coffee in the morning wasn't bad though... I really wonder what they "fully renovated" because it just seems like the lobby furniture is new and nothing else. If you're fine with an old hotel (and as long the room you get doesn't smell), its a decent "cheap" option.

I spent 5 days during April. The shuttle service is a plus as they will pick you up from the airport as well take you to nearby destinations from the hotel . A room on the fourth floor was nice and quiet. It’s a short distance to all the venues such as the Van Wezel . Opera house and Florida rep theaters . Breakfast was not included there are many restaurants nearby. A Whole Foods and Publix are within walking distance . The rooms have a small frig and there is a microwave at the ice machine as well as a water purifier. This is the first time I came without a car and I never had to get an uber with the shuttle and close proximity to venues There is a small pool in the back with shade

I used to stay here quite often when it was the Indigo, but haven't in the last couple of years. I planned on visiting a friend and stayed on my free night award prior to driving the next day (checked in around 7:30 pm). When I walked into the lobby to check in, felt so comfortable plus Scott remembered me. It was great talking to him and he was as friendly as ever (as well as person who checked me in). They did a great job with the room and everything was spotless as it has always been. The bed was really comfortable and for me, that is important due to back surgery last year. I always thought the water pressure in the shower wasn't adequate for (thick hair and took forever to rinse out shampoo and conditioner), but that definitely improved with the renovation. Some changes were made and a closet was added. I do suggest they add a few more hangers in the room, but that is an easy thing to do. They still offer free coffee in the morning, but it was better than remembered with sugar in the raw, which I use. The restaurant food has improved also and dinner was good. Another change is they took out the hot tub and made the pool larger. That was a smart move because previously the pool was useless. I didn't go out there, but chairs looked comfortable and I'm sure it will be appreciated by the guests. All in all, even though the stay was just for 1 night, now I know why I love this hotel so much and plan to visit again in a couple of months.

We came New Year's Eve. Of course the price was crazy. We had requested two queen beds. When we booked online. We ended up with one queen bed and a couch. Our hallway was like a sauna. For $400 a night. You would have thought you got breakfast but we didn't. No remote for the TV in the room, had to request it. The pictures make it look far bigger than it really is. Won't be back.

While I enjoyed the hotel and the staff, unfortunately the room key never worked when I was there. Essentially I had to stop by the seat every single time I wanted to enter my room, no solution no offer of anything for this annoying situation. All the staff were extremely nice and just as frustrated but unfortunately nothing additional was ever offer for their awful key card system. Just think about every time you need to open you expensive hotel door you have to stop at the desk For a new card , unacceptable!
