Marion Motor Lodge

The Waterfront Motor Lodge is unquestionably in a great location and right beside the Lions Bridge and opposite the Marina. It’s a bit dated and overall a busy place. It favours those with a vehicle. Nice outdoor seating to watch the world go by. Relaxing.

The view of the bay is gorgeous. The rooms are clean and look exactly like the photos. The front desk clerk at check in was very friendly. The owner Mack was very friendly at check out. Parking is free, but there aren't enough, so they are in the process of putting more in.

Very considerate staff, friendly and helpful. The room was well-appointed and clean throughout our week with them, the beds comfortable and the reclining chairs a nice touch for unwinding before bed. I recommend booking an upstairs room, where you'll find a table and two chairs outside your door for sitting in the morning with coffee or in the evening to take in the view of the Bridge of Lions and lovely sunsets with a lighthouse in the distance. You're literally next door to a good restaurant (OC White's), that had music when we were there and an outdoor courtyard to eat and enjoy the food. A couple of minutes and less than a block later you're in the heart of the old city and ready for a walk down St. George's Street, with shops, restaurants, and other points of interest, or a stroll along the waterfront and around the Castle of San Marcos. Reasonable rates, superbly situated and staffed with helpful, friendly people. Couldn't have been happier. A small issue for some: the bathrooms are fairly small and lack a tub, but the shower's water pressure is strong, and hot water comes quickly. No complaint from us on that point. Also, I left a few things, somehow, and didn't notice for a couple of weeks. When I called, they had them waiting and even told me the easiest way to have them shipped back. Seriously good people. Give them a try.

I would book this hotel for the view alone. The rooms are beautiful and clean. The location is stellar. The front desk was helpful and friendly. The beds and pillows were very comfortable. I could not give it 5 stars because the water pressure was so bad, I knew I could not wash my hair. I would have never got the soap out. I was only there for a night though, and I really enjoyed my stay.

I can’t say enough great things about this gem of a hotel! From the staff, ease of check in, being able to park early and walk to absolutely everything made our trip spectacular!!! The rooms are comfy and spacious; newly remodeled with a Keurig big tv and all you need! A sparkling clean salt water pool was such a bonus too in the heat of summer! Thank you for taking such great care of us!
