Westgate Lakes Resort & Spa Universal Studios Area

Recently visited resort and initially found the resort to be beautiful and well maintained. However, our last night there, we ending up chasing 2 huge cockroaches up until 2am and we had a 8 hour drive back home! On day one we saw one face up dead and thought at least he was dead but have two live one in which one flew over our bed and the other in bathroom. Needless to say we got no rest which made the end of our trip horrible! I did complain to front desk at checkout and ANASTASIA said would note my account! UNACCEPTABLE! Oh well I guess need to bring raid if stay in the future!☹️☹️☹️😡😡😡

We stayed in Building 80, and while our room was very nice and spacious, check-in was frustrating. We had requested a room in Building 60 to be near two family members who had separate rooms there. We arrived around 2 p.m. and were told a room in Building 60 just needed a final inspection. We waited all afternoon, but when we finally received a text at 7 p.m. saying the room was ready, we were informed at the desk that it had already been given to someone else. I was understandably upset. The manager then found another room in Building 60, but when we went to it, it was already occupied—someone’s belongings were all over the room. It was very concerning that we were given a key to someone else's occupied room. Ultimately, the manager provided us with a room in Building 80, separate from our family. Though not what we initially wanted, the room turned out to be very nice. To make up for the confusion and inconvenience, the manager also waived the resort fees. While the situation was stressful at first, the final accommodations and management's efforts to rectify the situation helped improve the experience.

We stay for 2 weeks because we are from the UK we are owners. The first day we went to the park when we came back a extra large toblerone a large bottle of wine 2 large box of pringles was stolen from our room. We inform security they took statement and say they would investigate.We waited 2 weeks we left we have not heard any thing up to this day no body cares. We had to locked every thing a way when we go out.

This resort is PERFECT for kids, with a movie theatre, train ride, multiple pools and a water park right on site. There are several good restaurants on the property, all a bit on the pricey side, so keep that in mind, but there is a Walmart within walking distance so you can always grab groceries and snacks. The staff here were really nice. I would absolutely go back.

ABSOLUTELY DISGUSTED!! DO NOT GO HERE if you are from the UK! The staff have completely wasted our time. We were promised a deal for discounted park tickets, a free breakfast and a free night stay at their hotel if we took part in a 90min tour of their facilities. We signed a contract and paid a deposit. We were told we had to be over 25 to qualify which we both are and were aware that we were from the UK. We spent money on a taxi and wasted our whole morning trying to locate the office for the tour at the hotel. The hotel was very large so we were told to go to 3 separate areas of the hotel to find this tour to get the agreed deal and a shuttle bus. We arrived, filled out more paper work and waited for another 20mins. The hotel then told us they were refusing us of the discounted tickets, breakfast and hotel stay because we were not over 30. This was not written or mentioned in the agreement and were told all other countries you need to be over 25 but the UK you have to be 30 and could not explain why this was. The staff were of absolute no help neither was the manager. Our whole morning was wasted and we were further out of pocket with the extra taxi fees we had to pay. We were offered no compensation. Overall an absolute shocking experience. We will be telling everyone who comes to America to STAY AWAY from WestGate Hotels.
