Rooms have seen better days. Location was the reason the hotel was chosen and "affordability". However, i was not aware and was not told upon check in that parking was not included as part of the resort fees. It would have been nice to be made aware of first hand instead was told that resort fees and incidentals were $87.50 for 3 folks. Now, was just told that is $21.50 per day for Parking plus resort fees. Overall, it was ok in terms of cleaning. The beds were comfy. For a few days, is okay. But, there are hotels that offer free parking so be on the lookout for other options.

I drove all day from NY to Orlando FL. I didn’t have a reservation, but the front desk staff at this location is very professional, attentive and helpful! especially Elaine; she understood my needs and went above and beyond to address them. We need more people like her in this world.

Rafael was awesome bartender at this resort. Very good at making delicious drinks. Did his job well and was personable with his guests. Enjoyed staying at this resort and will stay here again in the future. Looking forward to coming back to Orlando!

We have been coming to this resort hotel since 2005, we have seen a lot of changes, too many to list right, but a lot. The main reason we come back is because of Dan the magic man. He has been there since about 2011 when our son was 10 years old. He is just fantastic. If you have any problems with anything, he gets it taken care of and he does it all from the pool area! Fabien from the front desk is just fantastic. We always have more than one room and he always makes sure are rooms are close and sometimes we even get an upgrade! Matt who works at the pool bar is fantastic, he makes a really good drink and is super friendly, its hard to find Matt though, he works one day a week, but you would never know it by the great and friendly service he provides. Lisa, who also works at the bar, is also very friendly and provides great service, you will see her serving pizza and drinks! She has been there awhile and has always been wonderful! Judith from Haiti, is new and she works the pool area, she will make sure you and your kids have a wonderful time in the pool area. She is fairly new, but she does a fantastic job. We love this place, if you ever visit here in the month of April, you may see me running around the pool area, picking up towels and straitening the pool chairs and cleaning up empty cups ect. One of the guests asked me to go grab something from their chair, so I did, and I said no problem! I handed them their ball from their chair and said "hi" I am Joe, just to let you know, I have been coming here for 20 years, this place is great but "No, I don't work here"

My husband and I have not long returned from our stay here at Holiday Inn Lake Buena Vista. We had a wonderful time! Location: We chose this hotel due to its proximity to Walt Disney World and Universal Orlando Resort. The hotel is about a 10 minute drive from WDW and about a 20 minute drive from Universal. It's also not far from the International Drive area, I would say maybe a 5/10 minute drive away? Orlando International is about 30 minutes away from the hotel. Wendy's is over the road, as well as a gift shop. Further down the road you can find McDonald's and Chick-fil-A. 7-Eleven is next door. There's a Saltgrass Steakhouse just a 5 minute walk away too, which was great! Shuttle Bus: The hotel offers a free shuttle bus to the parks. Although both the hotel and our tour operator advertised that the shuttle drops off and picks up at ALL theme parks, sadly that's not the case - i.e., the shuttle bus does not service Disney's Animal Kingdom at all and only drops off passengers at Disney's Magic Kingdom twice a day. The drop off and pick up times weren't the best either, in our opinion. As a result of not all the parks being serviced and the times, we did end up spending a small fortune on Uber. Room: We were in a standard room, it was clean and very big! The room had 2 Queen sized beds, mini fridge, safe, tea and coffee making facilities, air con and TV. The room was kept clean throughout our stay and the coffee was kept topped up, which kept my husband happy :) Pool: Decent sized pool, with plenty of sunbeds to go around. There are plenty of free towels and these were kept topped up during the day by the staff. There were also 2 hot tubs which really helped our sore feet after a day of walking round the parks! The pool area was also kept clean. What I thought was also a nice touch is that the pool is open from 7AM to 11PM - this might be the norm in the States, but we are used to visiting resorts in Europe where the pool shuts at 7PM! We personally never used the pool after 5PM but it was nice having the option to have a quick swim after a day at the parks if we fancied it. Amenities: There is a pool bar which served drinks and quick snacks. There's an Applebee's Restaurant joined next door which we used quite often for cheap, but nice, meals. They do a buffet breakfast, lunch and dinner is table service. There's also a little shop in the hotel that serves snacks, medicines etc. There's a little cinema and an arcade. Unfortunately we do have a negative experience to share... after we checked in, we were approached by a member of staff on the concierge desk (Brenden). He explained he had a "welcome gift" for us - $110 cash in exchange for us visiting a nearby resort and sitting through a timeshare presentation. Stupidly, we agreed to this and he took $50 off us as a "deposit" (he told us we would get this deposit back, meaning we would get $160 from IHG). It was only after a decent night's sleep we thought "wait a minute..." and realised we'd been duped. We were taken advantage of as we were tired from a 9 hour Transatlantic flight and a long day of travelling in general! An expensive lesson to learn, but we haven't let this spoil our holiday. As I said at the start of our review, we had a wonderful time. We are looking forward to going back to Florida and we will consider booking this hotel again.
