This was my third time staying at the Residence Inn Miami West/FL Turnpike, and it never disappoints. The hotel is in a great location (hence the repetition), offering easy access to local attractions and businesses. The front office staff is consistently friendly and welcoming, making check-in and check-out a breeze. I also appreciate the every-other-day housekeeping service, which is convenient unless I request more frequent cleaning. As always, my stay was comfortable and hassle-free, and Iāll definitely be back for another visit.

I stayed at this hotel from July 1st to July 5th, 2024, and my experience was extremely disappointing due to the incompetence of the front desk staff. Despite my reservation being fully prepaid through Rappi Travel, the hotel did not recognize this at check-in. Twenty days after checking out, I was shocked to see a substantial charge on my credit card, despite having prepaid. Resolving this issue was incredibly frustrating. The staff initially denied any wrongdoing and shifted the blame to Rappi Travel. It took multiple calls and emails to get them to acknowledge their mistake. After Rappi Travel processed the refund, I discovered I was still shortchanged. This added further financial burden and stress. Overall, the lack of accountability and professionalism from the front desk staff is appalling. As a frequent traveler, this has been one of the most frustrating and poorly handled situations Iāve ever encountered. I urge hotel management to address these issues seriously to prevent such unpleasant experiences for other guests.

Very disappointing...I booked a 1 bedroom with 2 queens and sofa bed. The sofa sagged significantly in the middle. The mattress inside appeared original and you could feel every single wire when you laid on it. I requested a roll away bed from the front desk but was told none were available but they would have housekeeping to "double check" and still let me know later. Checking later, still nothing and the clerk said she would leave a note for the morning crew and check back tomorrow. When I did, I was told the hotel doesn't have any at all due to renovations (which I saw no sign of) and planned on buying all new ones. I explained that I needed something for the fifth person in our room to sleep on, did they have another room available or something? I was offered a mattress pad as the best they could do. We stayed on the 4th floor which smelled of a wet garbage dump and felt like 80 degrees in the hallway. The rest of the hotel smelled strongly of Febreze. Our room would smell like oil/diesel and get very humid unless kept at 73 degrees. We were assigned an ADA room that was WELL USED. The stove fan and light did not work. The ice maker in the freezer did not work. The button on the microwave was half broken. The toilet paper holder was broken, hanging on the wall by one side. The small glass shelf next to the sink was half broken with the screws slipping out of the drywall and having to keep pushing it back in. The mini built in dresser adjacent to the bathroom, the drawers smelled so bad inside, we didn't keep our stuff in it. The ADA shower was a nightmare. I know it's designed to accommodate a wheelchair but the shower floor was not built to drain properly, so the water was running into the bathroom clear across to the other side and there was an additional central drain in the middle of the bathroom to drain the water. Anyone needing to walk into the bathroom after you shower is walking into a flood and could slip and fall. We ran out of towels because we put them on the floor to try to keep the water from going everywhere. This hotel has a large construction clientele with lots of parking spaces taken up by extra large utility trucks and their personal vehicles. I suspect this clientele leads to the condition of the rooms and unique smells in this hotel; think boy's locker room but oil and diesel from construction workers. POSITIVES: Curtains kept the light out good. The beds were comfortable. I never made it to breakfast so can't comment on that.

The guy at the front desk who checked me in was not friendly nor welcoming. There was a lip balm left in the room from another guest. The shower head just splatters water in your face which then leaks on the bathroom floor as well. There were stains on the couch and the grout was filthy. Also, the side entrance door does not close. The toilet does not have enough water pressure and the dryer did not dry my clothes the first time so I put money again and it did not dry the second time. I called front desk and they said they canāt give me a refund because they donāt own the washers and dryers.

This was a great hotel! We had booked this property for a few nights before our cruise because of the price. We were wary that it seemed a long distance from restaurants and shopping. In the end, cost won out. Upon arriving, we were greeted warmly by the front desk agent. We had booked a one-bedroom suite, but she quickly upgraded us to a 2 bedroom instead. The room was spacious and very clean. There was a fridge, stove, microwave, and dishwasher. We later discovered the oven didn't work (that is one of the reasons for only 4 stars). We quickly went outside to the pool area. It was uncrowded and clean during our stay. There was no overpowering smell of chemicals or stinging eyes when we swam there. Breakfast was amazing! There was always a couple of meats to choose from. There were also hashbrowns, eggs, fruit, oatmeal, bagels/toast, and a variety of pastries. There was also yogurt and fruit for those wanting a lighter fare. There are some minor issues with this hotel. We couldn't get the pool side grill to work and had issues with the oven in our room, but when you look at the low number of Mariott points required for this property we were very pleased. We even discovered a nearby Subway and a great route into the Doral area where food and shopping abound. We wouldn't hesitate to stay here again.
