Avoid this hotel, there are so many better options in Miami at a better rate. The resort fee is high for patchy WiFi at best and very little other facilities. The room was damp, you could feel the moisture in the air as you walked in and it had collected on the bedsheets. This hotel needs a big refurbishment. We moved hotels and only offered refund of the resort fee, they would not refund the room. The pictures explain the rest.

We spent 1 night pre-cruise at the Villa Italia Hotel. While it wasn't entirely bad, I wouldn't recommend it either. The good: 1. The price was relatively attractive. 2. The location is pretty good. 3. They serve happy hour wine (more under the not-so-good). 4. The room was fairly spacious. 5. It served its purpose. 6. Room temperature was comfortable. The Not-So-Good: 1. While I think the room was clean, it was old and dated-looking. 2. Chairs so old, stained and damaged that I don't think anyone would buy them in a thrift store (see photos). 3. My check-in was at 3:30 pm. I arrived about 3:10 pm. They made me wait until 3:30 pm. I'm almost certain the room was ready when I arrived. 4. General room scuffed and in need of paint and maintenance. 5. Considerable noise from upstairs, feet stomping and such. 6. Wine in happy hour of a very poor quality. I don't expect an amazing wine at this price point, but I sense they could find something better. Both a glass of white (Costco) and a glass of red went down the drain, and I am not that fussy. 7. I asked for ice and they had none. 8. Substantial resort fee not plainly disclosed. It was apparently in the fine print, but I didn't see that. This is certainly no resort. Conclusion: This is an older, tired hotel in a very good area. Its prices are better than most, especially given its location. In my view, it is not a 4 star hotel, but perhaps a 1 or 2 star hotel. The room was in need of basic maintenance. But again, clean and in a very good location. Respectfully, I would not return.

The hotel is clean, rooms spacious and well laid out with full facilities. The hostess: Flores is very helpful, warm and kind. Everything you need is in the room. The pillows are fluffy and bed very comfy. The hotel is very close to the beach and they provide beach towels! Lovely home from home environment. This is my Miami home from now on! Thanks Team…

The service. I’ve never had the misfortune of staying somewhere with such horrendous service. The storage room that holds all of the clean towels/linens for the remainder of the hotel is locked within a closet inside the master bedroom of the private villa. This resulted in house keeping knocking on our door every single day of our stay to access that closet to get to the towels. And a second knock with them accompanied by management when we denied them access the first time. They didn’t care someone was still asleep in that room. They came in every day to get towels/linens for the rest of the hotel. Their storage issues are not mine and my family’s problem and to have our rest and vacation disturbed just for this was terrible customer service overall. If you plan on staying in the private villa, expect to be interrupted everyday of your stay. Or if you won’t be in the villa during the daytime, expect the staff to be accessing the area with your private belongings without you there. This was not communicated to us ahead of time nor was it upon check in that this would be occurring. If someone has the villa booked for so many days, why not access the towel/linens ahead of time and store them elsewhere if the villa will be occupied? It seems like that would be common sense, but apparently this place didn’t seem to have that No issue with the room itself, the private villa was nice and clean overall. And the location was ideal, within walking distance of most places we needed to be. The service didn’t outweigh this though, and we will be staying elsewhere next time we visit. I encourage you to do the same and look for other accommodations.
