Holiday Inn Express & Suites West Melbourne an IHG Hotel

We stayed there for 2 nights between 2 legs of our trip from Miami to New Orleans. Room was basic but very good size wise, bad was excellent, lining perfect. Towels in goodvshape, aboundant qt. Breakfast was ruther poor, but you had basics. We did find convenient tee & coffy mashine available in tge lobby 24/7. Parking convenient, location in general ok. Compared to our Miami 4* hotel this one had 5 times better price performance. Great experience.

BAIT & SWITCH. We almost never give a 1 star review as we normally don’t believe in it, BUT we booked “Suite with Two Queen Beds” via Priceline which was described as a 2 Bedroom Suite as it had the following description: Bedroom 1: 1 Queen Bed Bedroom 2: 1 Queen Bed Living Room: Sofa Bed Upon arrival they put us in just a hotel room with 2 queen beds & a sofa bed, which is what we always get at HIE for ½ the price we paid. Complained to the front desk & they said they did not have multi bedroom suites & the description was something Priceline made up on their own. I told him this was not even a suite, & he said it was all they have. Told him they should at least give us a connecting room, & he refused. Spoke to Priceline & they said they do NOT create content or descriptions as it all comes from the hotel, & that seems to be correct as the bedroom/living room description above appear in all booking sites. Priceline was also no help as they said it was a hotel issue & left me to fend for myself. So unfortunately a 1 star review is all we can give since they cheated us out of what we booked.

Room was clean. They only had one elevator and I spent way too much of my precious time off waiting for it. They had plastic around the whole mattress which couldn't be removed by me and it made Sleeping impossible. After tossing and turning for 4 hours, at 1:00 a.m. I called down and told them to remove the plastic in the morning.  As I was moving the blankets to the floor so I could get a little bit of sleep, I had a DUH moment I checked the other bed and there wasn't plastic so I was finally able to sleep. The toilet took so so long to fill up after each flush. The heated pool & hot tub were a nice touch but has stain and scale that needs to be addressed by a pool contractor, obviously their pool cleaning Tech doesn't know how to take care of their pool. The hot buffet was mediocre, the bland cheese omelettes were obviously Frozen and heated in a microwave, the new technical pancake maker was cool but the batter was horrible. The bagels were a day old and hard, the sausage was tasty, didn't try the oatmeal or the cereals they did have apples and bananas, the heated cinnamon buns were tasty. The biscuits and gravy I took one bite and no more, yuck.  Very disappointed in this property

The hotel showed signs of being well used . Not to the standard displayed on hotel website . The pool / hot tub area did not entice me . The Car Park had plenty of spaces , Plenty eating places and shops close by . The Room was well appointed and comfortable . The breakfast was adequate .Overall we found the hotel average and not our first choice in the area .

Besides being close to everything and the stuff was very helpful the boom was very clean. We had planned to soap in the bathroom and cleaned the bathroom too so overall it was just awesome. The battle was made and I like the comfort.
