We all understand that some hotels offer lower, non-refundable rates, but in situations where a booking app glitches and selects the wrong date without the guest realizing until after payment, there should be some flexibility. In my case, I noticed the date error right after booking and immediately called the hotel to correct itānot to cancel, just to fix the date. The hotel told me to contact Priceline, and when I did, Priceline reached out to the hotel, who then requested an email. The email was sent, but since then thereās been zero communication from the hotel. To me, thatās completely unreasonable and poor customer service.

There is not a zero star rating, which would be my choice. We arrive from Michigan wearing winter clothes. They told us to sit outside by the bar because our room wasnāt ready. Then they tried to give us a room that was not upgraded like they said on their website. We paid for the upgrade. This hotel is under construction do not let them fool. You

Stayed one night at the Gates, prompted by the hotels website that offered a very good rate, a champagne welcome, and a promised $25 meal credit. But upon checkout we discovered extra charges for resort fee, parking, and something called Island Outreach Contribution. Plus never got the $25 meal credit. Added $120 to our bill. Tried calling the Gates to get an explanation but the phone was not answered.

This place is an absolute gem! The food, rooms, bars, and overall ambiance are all top-notch. I wasnāt expecting much, but this place certainly exceeded my expectations. I would love to return if given the chance. I highly recommend it to anyone visiting Key West.
