SpringHill Suites by Marriott Jacksonville

We stayed here 4 nights. Room was nice although sheets were old and thin as were the towels. Hotel was quiet. Breakfast staff just can't keep up. The decaf coffee was often cold. The tables were all sticky from the waffle syrup. If you can't keep up with the cleaning, don't serve sticky food! It was gross. Fitness center was nice.

Just checked in. Very warm welcome. Comprehensive information at check in. Got to our room which clearly had been well-loved. My teenager said, "This is not our typical class of hotel." I guess she has been paying attention. I reminded her that it's 4 days and we would survive. The furniture is chipped and the couches were tattered and dirty. Then we spotted the spider in our bed. We asked for a new room. That request was accommodated. The other room had a bug as well and it too was"well-loved" and worn. Scratching post for someone's loveable pet it seems. I don't hate pets but had I noticed the pet-friendly notation, I would have picked another property. Also a bit smelly. Maybe it's time for a carpeting refresh too. The front desk said they are planning for a renovation. It is time. Looking for a new location

Every second being on this property is like being in heaven. They keep the old school standards (like keeping a constantly cleaned lobby, fresh coffee, and friendly service) they may be a 3 star hotel, but the service and accommodation is 5 stars, without question. Rielle B., Shannon S., and the houseman Anthony were of the greatest help to get me situated with my reservation. If you are looking for a clean, family friendly experience, this is the place to be. I hope nothing changes with this hotel. Definitely in the top 3 of my extensive travel experience.

This hotel is relatively close to the St. John’s shopping area which is a plus. The hotel is an older property with out dated rooms. The tv in the room was wall mounted but in an awkward location that was hard to view from the bed. Check in was ok experience, rooms seemed clean and neat. Not sure if we will stay at this one in the future

Nice hotel with a good location. Comfortable bed. Friendly staff. Breakfast was typical of Marriott hotels. Ample parking. The only reason I am giving this three stars instead of five is that the suites are too small to be a suite. Yes, they are a suite in terms of amenities and the separation of the "bedroom" from the living space. However, when the sofa bed is opened up, it is IMPOSSIBLE to exit the room. The sofa bed not only blocks the door to the hallway from opening, it also blocks the pathway from the bed and bath area. This is surely in violation of the fire code and how the hotel gets by with this is unknown. If you had to exit the room in a hurry because of a fire, you would not make it out without first having to fold up the sofa bed.
