Hampton Inn Ft. Walton Beach

Where to begin? Upon check in I was informed that there is a $15.00 per day parking fee. We get to our so called beachfront room and our view is looking at the dunes and weeds. If you had a small stepladder you may be able to see the water. Hotel and grounds are unsightly ie standing water on the patio as well as rust stains. Pool was filthy. We stay at Hamptons frequently and I have to say this is more like a Motel 6.

Booked the room 9 month ago…We were supposed to have a room with a beach view but somehow that got messed up. We’re stuck on the first floor with a view of the fence between us and the neighboring hotel. The room we have smells awful…very old and musty. The popcorn ceilings look very dirty. Having problems with the TV shutting on and off sporadically, so we had to call for maintenance. All this within the first two hours of being here. I already know, I won’t be back.

Don’t expect too much from this hotel. It needs to be renovated badly. Pros: beach access, friendly staff, on site free parking, free breakfast Cons: large bugs in the room, carpet through the hotel is nasty, mold in the bathrooms, dusty rooms If you can afford to stay elsewhere, I would recommend that you do.

Don’t get room 141. Mold in shower, dirty towels left in bathroom, whole room smelt like mold and was dirty. As a diamond member that only stays in hilton hotels, this one of the worst if not the worst hotel i’ve been to. Would not recommend to anyone until this place is remodeled.

The staff is friendly and acommondates the guest. Maria is the GM for the hotel and is making great changes to this older but very clean hotel. It is a good getaway stay as the complimentary breakfast is delicious and a great way to start each day.
