Kimpton Shorebreak Fort Lauderdale Beach Resort an IHG Hotel

March 2025 stay was my second stay. Nothing has changed. Amazing and efficient client services by Kim, Iris, Taylor, too bad Tashelle from last year was on vacation this year because I really appreciated her too last year. I always appreciate the little things they do to make us feel at home. They are friendly, very professional, efficient and caring. Love the place vibe, the location, the rooms, the overall design, the inner courtyard where its always nice to hang out and the rooftop terrace. This year, I even convinced friends to stay there as well and they were as pleased as me. Count on me coming back, its my go to FLL place to stay.

The hotel is OK, but it was very disappointing when we could only get two beach chairs for our family of four in our room. They asked for $20 more per additional chair even though the beach was fairly empty. I expect more from Kimpton especially for the money we’re paying per room.

We stayed for 2 nights over a long weekend. The hotel is conveniently located a short walk from the beach and close to restaurants and bars and we were fine without having our own car. The hotel has a nice restaurant and a lively rooftop pool and bar. The room was clean and comfortable but doesn't have a lot of the nice amenities that you may have at other major chain hotels.

We stayed here for three nights prior to a Princess Cruise through the Panama Canal. From all the staff at the front desk, to the restaurant staff, bartenders and cleaning staff, all greeted us and treated us special! Steven, our bartender in Fuga was amazing during Social Hour and Happy Hour. Kimberley and Tashelle (ans well ans others) at the Front Desk were prompt in answering our text messages as well as in person questions. The Retro Rooms were very funky, the beds comfortable. Thoroughly a truly special stay to prepare us for our cruise.

I requested a quiet room in my booking and was given a room right next to the ice maker. I have stayed at IHG hotels many times and have had frequent guest status. When I asked for help at the front desk the response was “ oh, the ice maker is working?”. I responded that it is working and it is loud, can you please offer me another room? The answer was a dismissive “ no, not in the room category that you booked.” My response was, “is there anything you can do for me if I upgrade?” … “no not at this point.” Pretty lousy service.
