Bahia Mar Ft. Lauderdale Beach a DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel

My stay at this hotel was by far the worst hotel experience I've ever had—and I travel frequently. After checking in, we went out to enjoy the beach and dinner. When we returned, we noticed small bugs on the bedside mirror and table. By the next morning, the bugs were crawling all over the food we had brought back. I went to the front desk, and they moved us to a new room. I requested to speak with the manager twice, but didn’t hear from her for two days. She was supposed to send a security guard to take a statement regarding the bugs on our food, but no one ever came. I even sent videos and pictures as proof. We stayed for a total of four days, and housekeeping never cleaned the room. We ran out of towels and toilet paper, and when we requested more, it took hours for them to arrive. On the morning we checked out, I found a giant cockroach on my bed. I again asked to speak to the manager, but was told she was too busy—just like before. The only good thing about this hotel is the location. Honestly, we probably would’ve had a better stay at a motel. This place seriously needs to be fumigated and shut down. I was absolutely disgusted.

The beach attendant Juan was very helpful in the process of getting me a chair set-up. He gave me great recommendations on the fun of Fort Lauderdale for food / drinks. It made my experience a real 10/10!! It’s was a very refreshing way to start off my week! I highly recommend asking for Juan when you visit the beach.

Juan was super attentive. He was so great. Super helpful with moving the chairs around and always checking up on us!! He is great with umbrellas and the chairs. Overall this trip was an amazing time with my family and we definitely will plan on coming back soon!

Stayed here for the Tortuga Festival. The room was clean and it was convenient. The coffee shop was awesome. However we had no hot water the first night. And the next night it was in and out. And they never refilled the body wash during our stay … so I showered with the shampoo. The stay was fine. It definitely could have been better for $650 a night. The valet service was terrible. The guy assisting us at valet was just not suitable for dealing with a public. Rolled his eyes at me because I didn’t have the ticket. Well, I didn’t have the ticket because when my daughter took the car out and returned one day, they didn’t give her a ticket back. They told her she didn’t need it. So that’s not my fault. That’s the valet’s fault. And then when he pulled the car up for us, he brought it to the far opposite side of the driveway, away from where we were standing with all of our luggage. Handed me our keys and walked away. it was just me and my daughter, and we had to get the luggage from one side of the drive to the other side of the drive by ourselves because he just left us there. Really rude. And when I said something to the other valet he just laughed at me and shrugged his shoulders like there was nothing he could do. They really don’t care.

The absolute worst Hilton I have ever stayed at, as a diamond member you should expect better. My wife is disabled and we paid extra to have a valet park our car for easy access outside our building. We came home for the evening to find our car was removed and replaced with two cars without handicap placards. When I approached the hotel for help they claimed no responsibility that it was the third party valet service. Regardless the hotel contracted the valet and were responsible. Poor service and worse response!
