Delray Breakers on the Ocean

Put a deposit for April 2025 at this hotel.... cancelled after a local friend checked it out a day later. Contacted the property multiple times directly. They still have not returned my deposit per their contract. (as of 12 15/24). Do not do business with these people

Living area and bedroom are very spacious, however, they are in need of some repair. Paint needed very badly. Vents should be replaced. Electrical outlets should all be replaced (everything you plug in falls out). Most all the blinds are broken. Bedroom closet has no door. Don't even get me started on the bathroom and sink area, it should be gutted! Disgusting and filthy with some crawling bugs, can't even open the window (which looks newer)...Kitchen leaves little to be desired. Needs a real good cleaning and cabinets are falling apart. Write up says it's fully stocked, it is not! This room does not look anything like the pictures posted. Furniture minimal, no chair at the desk, TV wires all over the place. The outside grounds and pool are really nice, but they should invest in some bug control, both inside and outside. And a little refinishing on the outside could go a long way. Locks on doors are horrible. The only redeeming quality about this place is it is located right on the beach.

Positives • Building is right on the water. Just a short walkway • Newly painted on the outside • Lawn is meticulously maintained • Pool is maintained very cleaned • I enjoy the outside porch a lot • Furniture appears new; sofa bed very comfortable to sleep in • Living area is large and so is the bedroom • Daily room service which is nice • BBQ is kept well cleaned by the staff. I used it once the grill was like new • Very dog tolerant. I took my dog to the beach one day, so did others • Private beach; no life guard • Family atmosphere Negatives • Lady in the office was extremely rude • Apartment is outdated • Kitchen is extremely small with no counter space • Many of the electric outlets did no work in living spaces • I was charged $75 dog fee but web indicates $50 • Web indicates free use cabanas- correct but there are only 8 so first come; first serve. Also, you had to open up the tent and hold it with a pvc pipe yourself. • Breakfast was a joke Assessment My wife and I were looking for a place to take our 7 year old granddaughter to a beach area. We met our goal. If you can ignore the negatives like we did and focus on the positives- the place met our needs. I did had a difficult time cooking, but other then that; we had no issues. Our granddaughter made friends and she spend most of the day from the beach to the pool. I do recommended it for the price

#delraydisaster! Negative Stars. BE WARNED! The GM, Kathi Tilton should be fired for threatening my 18 year old daughter and giving her a room with no working key. That's right. They assigned my daughter to a room and the room key didn't work. My daughter was outside in the dark struggling to open a locked door. When I called the "emergency" number because there was NO ONE anywhere nor present in the office (at 9pm at night) Kathi called me back and said "so sorry, I'll be right there" She then met my daughter at the door and let her in with a master key -- STILL NOT ADDRESSING THE FACT THAT HER KEY DID NOT WORK. She made snide insulting comments to the affect of "this is what happens when Mom isn't on the trip" and said "one sound out of you and you're gone" EXCUSE ME???? My daughter was in tears. Then Kathy Bates CALLED ME and left voicemail "warning" me that she hoped my daughter wasn't using this as a party place because she would be asked to leave. When I immediately called her back and assured her my daughter just needed a safe place to sleep she literally argued with me, saying my daughter looked like she was going out with friends -- literally ARGUING with me (many states away) and giving no explanation for the key that STILL didn't work. Basically my daughter was a prisoner in this room because she would not be able to exit without being locked out. Seriously? Beyond Unacceptable. Sadly, due to the late hour, my daughter slept here for the night and I instructed her to leave immediately the next morning when we promptly booked a reliable hotel (The Hyatt) and I demanded a refund from Ms Kathi, which she did not contest; her only sign of intelligence. STAY AWAY.
