Heritage Inn Ohio

I made a reservation for my son on 4/02/24 for 04/07-4/08. He received both text and email confirmation for the rooms. The total was on the email for around $120 for 2 rooms. When he arrived at the hotel on 04/07, they said that they couldn't find his reservation and instead of $52.95 a room, they said it would be $71 a room. He showed them the reservation and they would not honor it. The reservation was made through the hotel website. I have to say that I have never had anything like this happen to me. Maybe it was because he is 23 years old and seemed like he could be taken advantage of. I didn't see how calling the hotel would be helpful, so I decided to review the hotel. As it turned out, the hotel ended up with no rooms rented.

If you're into value for the $, stay here. Don't be put off by the locale. Yes, it's in the middle of nowhere, and the surrounding area looks like your typical post-industrial wasteland. It's not plush inside either, but I found everything functional. The place was fine as long as you don't ask for a lot of amenities. The room was clean and well maintained, if a bit worn. If you're looking for luxury, look elsewhere. At $58 (via on-line sites), it will save you $

For background, we have stayed at Heritage Inn yearly for the last 4 or 5 years while attending the Indycar race at Mid-Ohio. We have always been satisfied with our stays...basic and nothing fancy but comfortable and clean. This year, upon entering the room we could hardly believe it. The room was a dump and stank horribly (I know it was a smoking room but this was over the top). The 2 chairs were filthy and one had a big hole in it. The carpet was stained with holes worn in it. In the bathroom, the toilet was broken at the bottom and was very unstable. Many burns in the counter and sink was disgusting. If the owner is going to let this place run down like this...we will stay elswhere in the future. Be sure to check the pics

If you’re traveling and need to leave before 7, there’s no breakfast or coffee. No coffee in the room either. The attendant was playing on her phone and didn’t even offer to make a pot of coffee. It was 6:45. She had the TV blaring music when I first went into the lobby.

Room was cheap but clean. Perfect for what we needed. The evening lady was really sweet and helpful. The morning guy, I think was the owner wasn’t the most pleasant fellow ever but it good for what we needed, a nap after an all night at the Ohio state reformatory.
