The pros there was wifi and the lazy pirate bar and grill was great. The room didn't have towels, toilet paper ,cups for the coffee , one of the beds didn't have a sheet. Called to let front desk know they apologized. Someone brought two towels and a rag and said that's all she had we'd have to go to the front desk to get everything else. So we did. After our stay we really contemplated if the room had been cleaned at all. It seems like there are alot of permanent guests that live on site as well as workers. Strange place. Wouldn't recommend at all.

No help anywhere to be found. Unit in disrepair. No one answers emergency line not that you could get a signal or wifi anywhere in unit.. Front desk barred closed with padlock. Water and electricity turned off without warning. Elevators smell like urine, pool dirty, people use as foot bath after beach because outdoor shower didn't work, water is green with oily substance floating on top, chairs and tables covered in sand, bird poop, sunscreen oils, trash overflowing, can't get in with pool key majority of time, roaches in building and waterbugs in pool... workout room has uneven floors, rusted, equipment, ceiling falling apart in areas with rusted pipes and leaks... NASTY is an understatement. Better to pay a bit more and stay at the Hyatt down the road where they have good, hot breakfast included, clean rooms, rest/bar, pool, hot tub... only saving grace is the location.

I love the beach and everything about it. I could never understand how people could ever have a “bad” beach experience. Now I know. We stayed at Pirate’s Cove which was our first mistake. I admit, this was a last-minute, budget-friendly trip so I didn’t expect too much amenity wise. The condo had Murphy beds so that they could fit a chair in the room, so we basically slept on a cot. The overhead light was one of those cheap plug-in lights that you command strip to the wall of a basement closet or something. The cord to plug it in was just dangling over the cot. Later we found a drawer of extension cords so that the light and other things could be plugged in. We looked behind the tiny tv (that sat on a crooked, poorly built section of particle board cabinet) to plug something in and found a tangled web of extension cords plugged into more extension cords dangling behind the the “tv stand.” The condo advertised itself, with all caps, FREE WIFI AND HBO. Unfortunately, the WiFi network we were given with our pre check-in paperwork DIDN’T EXIST. We turned on the tv to just watch something before we went to bed and only local and Spanish channels came through even though there was a full channel list sitting right beside the tv. I emailed the manager who 100% blew me off and told me to call maintenance. In her condescending response email she suggested that we didn’t know how to operate the tv, told us “well there should be WiFi” and in response to the fire risk of extension cords she told us that she didn’t see any safety hazards and that it had to be done that way because there just weren’t enough outlets. When we contacted maintenance, they hardly spoke English and said that they didn’t know anything about WiFi and that they didn’t do anything like that. We decided to suck it up and go to the beach the next morning. Every two feet, and this is not an exaggeration, there were at least 2 dead jelly fish washed up on the beach shore. Needless to say, we didn’t get in the water. That night we thought we would go somewhere to get some decent seafood and see the town to put it all behind us. The first shop we went to, I wanted to grab a cheap jacket because the beach breeze was cool and I’m a wimp when it comes to low temps. The cheapest one I could find was 21.99 and we also grabbed 2 coozies for 1.99 to take to the beach the next day. The total came up to $46 and the cashier couldn’t understand what the problem was. I explained to her how to add and since the transaction already went through she told me I could just go pick something out for $10 because “she couldn’t do returns.” We were so mad, but decided we were just really hungry since it was already 7pm. We walked and drove to at least 4 different restaurants, all which had a 1.5 hour wait (even the ones that were scheduled to close in an hour from that time) or they were closed. There were nothing but drunks wandering around everywhere and we ended up just finding a Wendy’s and taking it back to our sad condo. Everyone we experienced were hateful and condescending. I will never come to this city again, I’ll leave it for the race car fans and bikers.

The location is great for this place. It is in the heart of Daytona Beach Shores and a close to a lot to even walk to. The views are great since you are right on the beach. The building is old This use to be an old hotel and is now condo owned so you are going to get a different type of unit depending on who owns it. Overall though they are hotel rooms converted to small studios. There are small bathrooms and small kitchens but a great option if you want to spend most of your time outside of your room and want to come back to cook/eat. Do your research before choosing a room. Know what beds and amenities are available in the unit you choose. The downside for me was that there were units with no smoking signs but I could smell cigarette smoke and weed every day when I was outside.
