The Westin Cape Coral Resort At Marina Village

We walked to the Marina on a lovely Sunday afternoon and decided to have two beers at the Nauti Mermaid. I didn’t have my readers with me and therefore just signed the check at the bar. No table service. Next thing I check my account and they charged $50 for 2 x Miller draft. It’s not the money it’s the principal. I am a Marriott Bonvey member who stays away on business at least 50 days per annum this behaviour will make me think twice about which hotel chain I book with.

This hotel was nice, easy to find your way around. The staff was very friendly for the most part. The rooms were clean and everything we needed. The balconies have a nice view and are screened in. The hotel is very pricey for the area. The check-in process was good. They told us there was a water taxi that left for Ft. Myers Beach at 10:30 and returned at 2:30. We assumed this was just for the beach, but apparently there are shops there, too. Wish we would have know that. We did not have a car. There isn't a lot to do in the area without one unless you just want to hang out at the pool. Unfortunately, on Saturday & Sunday (of spring break) the bar at the pool was not open. There was no explanation about this and was inconvenient. Many at the pool were wondering why it was not staffed. The temp of the pool was warm, which was great! There was a band at the bar on Saturday night, which was fun! Hotel overall was good!

Ick. It’s on a swamp. Checkin is a hassle for a married couple with 2 Marriott numbers —- why is Marriott rewards so messed up? The place is old and smells like food and there are no signs or obvious ways to get around the property. Also, it’s expensive!! The room is small, but newly furnished. The exterior of the room is a motor lodge. The window looks out on an ugly swamp.

The breakfast staff were excellent. Lorraine goes up and beyond to help you. Front staff in the evening are very nice. 25 dollars aday to park your car is ridiculous . It was cold and the heat in the room wouldn't go above 74. I ve stay there for 7yrs and it has changed.

I choose a Westin for the beds which are perfect for my old back. This location is an older facility which needs to be updated. The elevators all have grease all over the outside of the doors which looks like sewage. However, the maintenance staff are exceptional and quick to respond. The food is good and the staff is attentive. The parking is $25 a night contrary to some internet sites indicating it’s free. It’s an intricate complex that’s easy to get lost in.
