I have been a very loyal Hilton customer since 2011 and I have never been treated as poorly by anyone at the front desk as I was by David tonight. I was running late cause of work and was coming up from the Universal area and asked over the phone if everything was ok and how much the incidental charge was for the room. He said $10 and he’d wait up so I would make it before they turned over the books. When I get there he changed his tune and demanded $150 incidental deposit cause my card was locked when he attempted to charge me and failed. He wouldn’t accept that my card was locked and went on to insinuate that I had no money because I didn’t want to pay the $150 then refuses to cancel my reservation because now he wants to charge me a no show fee of the full amount of the reservation. This has been the most frustrating and hurtful experience ever at any hotel let alone a Hilton. This man is not representative of how Hilton treats their guests.

My wife and I had a 2 night stay at the Hampton Inn Apopka hotel in February of 2025 as we were moving to the panhandle from Apopka. When checking in we paid a 75.00 deposit for our 2 small dogs. We also paid a 150.00 deposit for what the clerk described as security for the hotel incase our debit card did not clear. That didn't sound right, but ok I guess ? I am disabled, and before we checked out as I waited in our car, I asked my wife to go up and check the room to be sure we hadn"t left anything behind, and to make sure that the room was in good order trash collected up used towels in the sink etc. Afterwhich we checked out. A month later we noticed the 150.00 deposit had not been returned so we called the hotel. They neglected to call us back, and never mentioned that there was an issue with the room. On the third day we were insistent upon speaking with a manager ( kamal ). He went on to say that the bathtub drain was clogged with dog feces. I'm not sure if they have us confused with another room or not, however, their story not reasonable, nor based in fact. He said that when the houskeepers were cleaning the room the bathtub drain was running slow and when they plunged it there was dog feces in it. My wife & I both used the shower that morning and did not notice the bathtub drain running slow. There was nothing unusual or anything to draw your attention to the alleged malfunction of the drain. I don't know if they snaked the bathtub drain, or merely plunged it, however, the toilet is very close to the tub. Who is to say the didn't snake something up from the toilet waste line? Further, if you plunge or snake any drain you are going to pull up a lot of nasty sh*#. There are a lot of guests using that room who's to say whatever they alleged to have found or who it was from. As a former front desk clerk I have been exposed to a lot & being involved with Hospitals I know that guests have been known to flush full diapers down toilets and clog them. It was cold in February and my wife walked our dogs every 4 hours. Both of my dogs are housebroken by the way and spent a significant amount of time in their crate in the room. If, and it's a big if, a dog pooped in a room would it be more reasonable for the guest to pick it up with toilet paper and flush it away, or jam it down the tub drain as they allege ? Their allegation is not reasonable, nor plausible. What I wish to empart to potential future guests: My experience with the Hampton Inn Apopka was; 1) What they tell you at the front desk and what their business practice is are two different things. 2) They charge a "pet deposit" of $75.00 and a mislabeled " $150.00 security deposit as they say " to insure hotel payment " should your debit card not work. They never contacted us to tell us there was an issue with the room, or they were keeping our deposit. They simply failed to return it and hoped we wouldn't notice. Our request for a refund fell upon deaf ears and hit a brick wall with the manager. He seemed very practiced with his responses to me as he likely has dealt with this complaint before. I will not stay at a Hampton Inn in again, nor Hilton Worldwide as they own Hampton. This franchise owner simply does not care and is more interested in $150.00 of stolen money. I think there may be a cultural issue in perception of what is an acceptable buisness ethic and what is not. Its too bad, because its a nice place, but they ruined their reputation over $150.00 theft and an unwillingness to listen to reason. I leave my stay at the Hampton Inn feeling scamned....Caveat emptor with this hotel. By the way this hotel is not BBB rated, nor a member of the Better Business Bureau

A nicer than average Hampton Inn. Great customer service; clean, functional, pleasant room; and quiet location. Plenty of hot shower water and good water pressure. Good housekeeping; decent breakfast; ample coffee. Convenient location; easy to find

The beds in our two-queen room were comfortable but high. The main problems with the room were inadequate lighting and lack of seating. There was a desk chair and that was it, even though there is space in the corner for an armchair and a lamp. It's hard for 3 or 4 people to be comfortable in a room where there's only one place to sit and the beds are too high to sit on. Breakfast was average. Hotel service was good.
