Residence Inn by Marriott Fort Myers Sanibel

This hotel is awesome. Modern, clean, comfortable, close to the beach, and the staff are really nice. The outdoor pool is warm and the hot tub is awesome. The free breakfast is delicious. The rooms are very large and the kitchens are great. I look forward to returning!

We checked in under the FEMA TSA to program. The hotel general manager still charged us for (2) nights, parking and a higher than normal incidental of $150. If you are a hurricane victim, you get treated badly by these hotels who act like they care. Be careful and don't allow this hotel to overcharge you for being a victim of a national disaster. Second, numerous ants found their way in to my daughters birthday cake and donuts. Maintenance sprayed and made my daughter very sick from the chemical. Third, as a platinum elite member, I was never greeted with a welcome bag. Fourth, the hot tub, fire pit, BBQ grill and guest computers are not working. Its not worth the humiliation and money... Traveler's, search around before deciding to lodge here.

Beware! people when dealing with this hotel. I was a long term customer at this hotel. I booked the hotel for Christmas week On our arrival 20th December 2024, we paid $1900 plus dollars Which was £1700 plus dollars and 200 dollars for incidentals.. On the evening of the 23rd December my wife received a bank alert. Saying someone had removed $700 plus dollars from our account. Attended the reception and discovered that the hotel had removed the money. The clerk stated it was a normal thing to do. We attempted to recover the money which had been removed illegally. We signed no authorisation The managements attitude was use Western Union and a few other american cash systems Then they said just write a cheque. You will have it returned in 5 or 7 days. When I issued a complaint. Answer fro m the hotel “ Its an inconvenience. “ The staff could not care less. You have been warned.

The front desk staff was wonderful. Ultimately though the real test is the ability to get a good nights sleep and that is a big failure. The a/c unit is incredibly noisy that it alone prevents any real good sleep. Plus there are so many sources of unwanted light that even after you turn out the lights it is still too bright. The furnishing and fixtures are a bit worn down - well past their prime.

Comfortable room, ample area to spread out, clean room, fabulous (included) breakfast and helpful staff. East access to Sanibel and lots cheaper than the resorts on the island, too. Grocery store within a quick walk. Really glad we chose to stay here!
