We recently stayed here for a concert, it was perfect walking distance. Room: The room was spacious and well-appointed, but the quality of the experience was significantly impacted by several factors. The lack of blackout curtains in the balcony room made it difficult to sleep due to the bright lights from the restaurant strip. Additionally, noise from neighboring rooms and a nearby gym class early in the morning made it difficult to sleep and sleep in. The shower floor creaked as if it was going to crack. The balcony door also needs to be looked at. Service: The check-in process was quick and efficient once we located the entrance. However, the lack of clear signage for parking and the entrance itself made finding the hotel part a challenge. Amenities: This is an apartment building with rooms to rent, there also is a pool, but no mention of that on the site that I saw. Parking is free! Value: Given the challenges encountered, I believe the hotel was overpriced.

I had a very comfortable stay at the Why Hotel in Washington. I had a one bedroom unit (in a new condo building) that was clean and tidy, and felt much more like a home than a hotel room. It was equipped with everything that you could possible need - right down to a clothes washer and dryer. The bed was very comfortable indeed. The Trader Joe's is right across the street, which was extremely convenient for picking up basics like coffee cream. I was a little concerned about the saftey of the neighbourhood - it's undergoing renewal and there are boarded up, graffiti-covered buildings right next to new condo towers - but the area is attracting younger folks and the streets always felt vibrant and safe. I can only count three pitfalls: 1. I was attending a conference in downtown Washington and I erroneously thought the hotel would be an easy walking distance. This is not the case, especially if you are a solo traveller and possibly walking at night time. Ubers cost as little as $11 first thing in the morning to $45 to get out of downtown during surge pricing. 2. As other reviewers have stated, I could not get the app to work. This ended up not being a problem because a very pleasant young lady met me (after normal office hours) and gave me a fob, but it added a layer of stress with trying to get the app to work during a layover at an airport. Related, my WiFi password did not work, but this was also corrected the following morning. 3. As far as I could make out, there is not any television services provided. There was a notice stating that you could login with, for example, your Apple account, but I did not do that. It would have been nice to have, at minimum, basic cable service. If none of these are issues for you, then I recommend the Way Hotel.

This place is very convenient for my purposes. It's basically an apt bldg with 3 floors dedicated to the hotel. Stayed here more than a few times. and each apartment has a different layout Access is only done via their app. Rooms are neat and clean. People seem to take home silverware and other items which are not always replaced.

This is not a hotel, but rather an apartment in an apartment building. No blackout shades. More like an AirBnB. I wanted the nicest place in Union Market, so I opted for the most expensive option in the neighborhood. Next time I’ll pay less and stay at the Courtyard Marriott, or another proper hotel. I was under the impression that I would get a queen bed. My mistake. It was a double.

As others have mentioned, very clumsy pre arrival process, but it gets even better. During a very busy time, all other hotels in area sold out, my reservation was cancelled 5 hours before check-in. The alternate location was 20 miles away, in Alexandria, which obviously does not work. Hotel did not care, i called and was told no one was available to talk to, and i could call back later. When I told them I would hold i was informed they did not allow guests to hold, so they would hang up on me. And they did. Email communication with Manager, Gregori, had the exact same feel, we don't care, you will do it our way or ..... Avoid this place if you like to maintain your plans, and not spend time and money changing them as Why"not"hotel feel appropriate. Martin Thornros
