Really enjoyed my stay. Its warm, comfortable, laid back, and well situated to enjoy Georgetown and the nearby attractions. Would definitely stay again. I upgraded to a king with the big tun (#9). Plenty of space and lovely views of the trees and garden. Staff are friendly and welcoming. They really do make you feel like a guest in their home.

I took my mom to a long weekend to Washington DC with the goal of cherry blossoms relaxation, learning, and family bonding. We had a wonderful stay at the Poppy Georgetown. The hosts were welcoming and accommodating, breakfast buffet was simple and much of my liking with its European style coffee machine and pleasant ambiance. The gardens in the back of the hotel provide for privacy and the hotel location makes for a pleasant walk to the best ice-cream place in DC(Thomas Sweet) and for a short stroll to Georgetown harbor. Nico gave us recommendations for restaurants in the area and we had a wonderful time at one of them on our last night in Georgetown, DC. I do want to go back and will definitely stay again at The Poppy Georgetown when I do.

This is the antithesis of a big hotel experience and as such we were treated to a more intimate experience. We enjoyed meeting the other patrons and checking out the neighborhood shops and restaurants. The "lobby" was more like a parlor equipped with small tables with an all hours variety free snacks and coffee and more. It was a bit tight but they have two garden areas with comfy chairs to enjoy in warmer months. The continental breakfast had some basic choices but there are several places in the neighborhood to go for a heartier breakfast. I liked the fresh decor. We will return.

Service second to none. Friendly helpful staff. Beautiful area and excellent grounds. Would definitely stay again. Service and breakfast was excellent. Only thing I would suggest is we stayed in a Suite for three ...travelled with our daughter. The door between the main bedroom and the second room should be solid or at least frosted. overall we would definitely recommend the Poppy.

Really clean and well appointed room in excellent location at reasonable price. Very friendly and helpful staff. Very quient and extremely comfortable. I plan to stay there again next time I visit Washington DC and highly recommend The Poppy to others!
