MainStay Suites Dover

This dog friendly hotel was a nice surprise. The lobby was beautifully decorated and a free breakfast was provided. The breakfast sandwiches were delicious and I loved the latte machine! The rooms are comfortable and mine included a small kitchenette including stove, microwave and small fridge with freezer. We also had a sitting area. It is true that the rooms are slightly dated but overall I would stay here again. It is a convenient stopping point for my visits to North Carolina. This hotel is close to I95 or I can choose to head towards the more scenic Bridge Tunnel that ends up in Virginia Beach.

Awesome and spacious rooms. Very clean with a full kitchen. Staff was very friendly and cheerful. Breakfast was really good; they had a wide variety of many things. I highly recommend this hotel. Definitely I will be back when I am in the area. Can't say enough good things about the hotel.

A sad place- run down. The rooms look like they have been lived in hard. Strange construction- thin doors and odd furniture for room- and the bathroom was a bit gross. The “shampoo” is more like mouthwash- and our room smelled like cigarette smoke. The staff seemed friendly but over worked. No one answers the phone if you have to call ahead. I would never stay there again.

The only thing I can think of is the location was good for where I wanted to be. We rented a king suite; it was nice and large. Was there for (3) days, September 2, 2022 to September 4, 2022. Breakfast was not good. It was grab and go; coffee was good. We decided to purchase items to cook for breakfast. After we cooked, we started to see roaches, on our second day we were there. Reported it to front desk. They did offer us to change rooms, but we didn't. They said they would give a discount, but never did. I would not recommend staying there.

The best thing about this place was the customer Service. The night receptionist (think Jessica) was the friendliest and most helpful we have ever encountered. She worked quickly to get us checked in after our exhausting travels and gave us all the important details. Loved the automated coffee machine and breakfast was decent. The room was spacious and a nice kitchen (we needed the fridge). Our only complaint was the marijuana & cigarettes smell in the hallways near our room. Luckily it didn’t enter our room but perhaps someone should monitor the level of “partying” occurring.
