Residence Inn Stamford Downtown

I had a lovely stay at this Residence Inn in Stamford. First, I'd like to commend the Front Desk staff who were all exceptional, especially Tajanee (please forgive me if the spelling is incorrect), Yuliia, Jennifer, Emily and Yurii. Tajanee checked me into the most beautiful, spacious, quiet room. She was a pleasure to deal with and like her colleagues, all really demonstrated what exemplary customer service is all about! My room was super clean (thank you to the housekeeping staff) and I loved that the hotel has a "no party" policy in the rooms which means a quiet night's sleep! I was able to walk to the hotel from Metro North (a little bit of a walk but definitely do-able) and literally walk out the back of the hotel to a street lined with restaurants and bars. I highly recommend this property. They also have a beautiful, modern lobby.

This was one of my most pleasurable hotel stays via the thousands of places I've been. When I was there at the hotel was spotless. When I arrive to my sweet there was a bottle of wine and treats waiting for me. That was totally unexpected. The service was top notch from the front desk, to the cleaning service. Nice modern hotel. I think the Marriott overall for stepping up their game and improving their hotel greatly.

The HVAC in the room was noisy like I was sitting next an engine. The hotel said the HVAC was like that in every room in the whole hotel. Breakfast was unimpressive which was disappointing because we paid more than neighboring hotel so that we could eat breakfast in the hotel. We were staying for a sporting event so we hoped that we could use the washer and dryer. Unfortunately, the staff said that they had the dryer, but it was not connected to be used. I would choose another hotel nearby next time.

If you like moldy wet carpet this is the place for you! Oh and don’t expect the local management or corporate to care about your feedback. 2nd time we had water intrusion from the windows. They were helpful and accommodating the first time so we returned. No issues the next stay but the final stay was awful and when we tried to share videos to show how bad it was they were rude and didn’t want to even see the videos. We travel a lot and wanted to give them a chance to address maintenance issues and improve as it is a great location. Nothing came of multiple attempts to get things shared and rectified. Guess Marriott corporate doesn’t care about people who spend $10k a year on hotels.

Not 5 star like a Ritz or resort, but a great downtown oasis. Spacious studio room with all the amenities. Comfy bed. Very friendly staff. Weird hours for the bar. Free breakfast is fine, but it can be crowded. In the middle of town, walk anywhere or grab the big hotel shuttle. You’ll be very comfortable here.
