Simsbury Inn

We got married at the Simsbury Inn in early May this year, and we had the best day! The ceremony space is gorgeous, the indoor/outdoor cocktail space was perfect, and the ballroom is stunning! Jeanine, the events coordinator, was very helpful throughout the entire planning process and was a rockstar the day of the event keeping everything on track and organized! You can tell she really cares about the couples she works with. We also got so many great comments on the food from our guests. The Simsbury Inn really checked all the boxes because we could get ready there, the event spaces were beautiful, and our out of town guests could stay on site! Also the wedding cake was part of the package… and it was SO DELICIOUS! Get the carrot cake! All in all, we had an amazing day!

My recent stay at Simsbury Inn was far from satisfactory, marred by several issues that significantly impacted my experience. Firstly, the state of the swimming pool was appalling. It was covered in limescale, giving it a filthy appearance. The pool water emitted a bad odor. Secondly, the incessant noise within the room was unbearable. It sounded like heavy machinery or a power generator running constantly, making it difficult to get a good night's sleep even with earplugs on. Despite our request to change rooms due to the disturbance, I was met with a flat-out refusal by a rude front desk attendant. His dismissive attitude and lack of concern for our comfort were deeply disappointing. Furthermore, the attendant's denial of ever receiving noise complaints from that room felt disingenuous and only added to the frustration. Lastly, the room itself was a far cry from the advertised images on the hotel's website. Instead of the bright, inviting space depicted online, I was greeted with a dark and gloomy atmosphere devoid of natural light. The room appeared old and poorly maintained with stained carpets, broken and unusable safe, thick dust on the ceiling, crooked towel hooks, and peeling wallpapers further detracting from its already dismal condition.

Really good hotel. A great looking place on the outside and a thoroughly modern hostelry on the inside. Good staff, extremely neat and clean, and very comfortable. Perhaps the shower/bath could be updated (who takes a bath these days?) and charging functionality on the nightstands would be helpful. Otherwise, a great mix of charm and function.

Mom's night out with 2 of my girlfriends. We enjoyed dinner and drinks till late at the Twigs restuarent on the second floor. Our room was VERY clean and so comfortable. The beds and pillows were so comfortable and cozy. It was very nice and quiet too. Exactly what we were looking for. The complimentary breakfast was really good too! We had such a wonderful time.

We got married across the street at The Riverview and hosted a hotel block at The Simsbury Inn. Although we had a small group of people the staff made us feel special, offering space for an after party is desired, champagne and a card on the wedding night, and making everything smooth even though we didn’t get married with them. Our only feedback is the inclusion of photos of the rooms to help plan better when booking and setting up a room block, especially with the suites! We were surprised (perhaps by our own omission) to find only 1 bed in the 2 room suite. Everything else was great. Thanks!
